Orange County's Woodystock is probably the most "ambitiously DIY" outdoor music & arts festival in the area. 2010 was our first year and featured performances from local musicians like Moostache, Parker Macy, Stupid Flanders, Aloha Radio and more plus a handful of local artists showcasing their work. The event received positive coverage from OC Weekly and OC Music Magazine. It was completely self-funded and did not break even; however by my own standard it was a success, and I decided to try again come 2012.
Woodystock 2012 is set for Sunday August 19; there's just one problem...expenses for the event have increased by more than two-thirds!! I won't be doing it without some help this time, but if enough local music supporters can get behind this then we're good to go. We have some great rewards for you such as personalized DVDs, your names in the festival program, and of course complimentary admission.
How Kickstarter works: you choose a pledge amount, but you aren't charged anything unless we meet our goal. If we don't get to $500 by 12:01 AM on Sunday June 17, we get zero funding and Woodystock 2012 could be history! So it's really up to you. We're actually really hoping for $1000 - the funds will go towards much-needed festival improvements - but we set the goal fairly low since it's "all or nothing". Keep in mind this is not for-profit!! If you've read this far I truly appreciate your time and ask you to please consider becoming an integral part of what just might be the Last Great Rock Festival. (In Orange County at least.)
