Imagine walking inside a steampunk comic book; that is how big this is going to be. Every panel will be a large fine art painting. Read more

About this project
Welcome to the world of The Anomaly! My name is David Landry. I am a dynamic illustrator currently working in Nashville TN. I consider myself to be on the forefront of the art world. My style is inventive and tends to change the atmosphere that it inhabits.
"The Anomaly" is a steampunk science fiction graphic novel about Nikola Tesla and his adventures through the Rubicon.
A lot of time has gone into the research and writing for this book. Although it is science fiction, it is very science and history based. Anyone familiar with the life of Tesla will enjoy the level of detail that is being put into the telling of this story.
This project will take between 2 to 3 years to complete. It will comprise of about 250 gallery paintings that will be digitized into the panels of the graphic novel. The finished project will have 2 sides to it; the fine art gallery pieces that will be hung and viewed like you are walking through the pages of the graphic novel, and the actual printed graphic novel.
The $4,000 that is raised for this phase of the project will go towards these materials:
$700-Props and costumes
As you can see, creating 250 historically accurate gallery quality paintings is not cheap.
In addition to the $4,000 I will also need to raise $10,000 for the publishing and distribution of the graphic novel. That will be phase 2 of the funding for this project. Any amount raised over the $4,000 will go towards phase 2. So please continue to donate even after the goal has been reached.
Anyone familiar with this project is probably wondering how the original budget of $35,000 got reduced to $4,000. First of all I completely removed the rental of a studio from the budget. Instead I will be working out of my house. I also reduced the number of paintings that I will be completing for the project from 1,000 to 250. The size of the paintings have also been slightly reduced. Because of the number of volunteers I have had I no longer need to hire models. As stated in the paragraph above I have also removed from this phase of the fundraising the printing and distribution of the book, and the gallery to view the finished paintings in. None of these changes alter the goal of this project. They simply allow me to get this project off of the ground.
What I need most from everyone that believes in this project is to get the word out. Facebook everyone! Tweet, blog, e-mail people that aren't on Facebook. Word of mouth is essential. Tell everyone you meet about this amazing project; you never know who might have a nest egg that they want to invest in the arts. Get Google to notice. Contact your local newspaper or weekly arts magazine. Contact local and big news networks. Who wouldn't want to know about the world's largest graphic novel? This is amazing! But I can't tell everyone on my own, I need you to help out here.
Thank you for your interest in this amazing project and I look forward to making it a reality with your help.
The concept art is very sketchy. Do you have any finished work of yours so that I can get a feeling of what your style is?
All of my finished art is on my website: http://artcreativitydesign.com . My kickstarter video has a lot of my work in there as well. Unfortunately, until I get the funding I can't start on the actual paintings. All of the sketches are just quick paintings on 8x10 paper.
