Or are they something more sinister? One young woman knows the truth and plans to tell the world. ROAM will open your eyes to an ominous world we may be living in today.

Cain Angelle, Louisiana native and co-founder of BoobTube FoodGroup, the driving force behind the hit television shows, The Captain and Casey Show, American Misfits and Built to Shred for Fuel TV, is not your average producer. Of course he flourishes in the creative and business sides of development and production, but more importantly, he’s an understanding and compassionate human who prides himself on treating others as he wishes to be treated - with equality, truth and fairness. With 18+ years of producing top-grossing digital content for the likes of DirecTV, Toyota Scion, NBC, Koch Media, T-Mobile, Sony and Complex TV, Cain is known for his tough, no-nonsense, kick-ass approach and gives props to skateboarding for his success. He was credited as a “creative visionary” in Paper Magazine for his unscripted indie project Chronilogical. In his spare time, Cain enjoys playing with food and entertaining for friends with his wife.

Aaron Billet is an award-winning producer of independent feature films, music videos, short films, and web series. Over the years, he’s successfully ascended from a production assistant to a producer. He’s done everything from stunts to props, AD’ing to Line Producing, and was the Head of Production for a major new media studio. This experience has given him a broad understanding of every aspect of the filmmaking process and the opportunity to produce for companies such as ABC, Warner Bros, Clear Channel, Kia, & Sony, just to name a few. He currently has two feature films in active development, one of which recently got financed.

Tedi Sarafian is an accomplished producer, screenwriter and true product of Hollywood. His early training in film and TV came from two legendary industry iconoclasts: his father Richard C. Sarafian, and his uncle Robert Altman. Growing up on sets, he trained as a PA, moved to assistant editor and eventually attended North Texas University where he studied film and music. His first produced credit, Tank Girl, became an underground cult favorite. Shortly after, Tedi wrote and co-produced The Road Killers for Miramax. Some of his other writing projects include: Man Plus for Warner Bros., Flying Tigers for Morgan Creek and William The Magnificent which was sold to Steven Spielberg in a bidding war. He’s also delivered rewrites of major projects such as the TV mini-series, Dinotopia and the hit feature film, Rush Hour. In 2002, Tedi wrote an original screenplay that attracted Arnold Schwarzenegger, which ultimately became Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, thus firmly establishing Tedi as a major screenwriter. Working for top directors such as Ridley Scott, John Singleton, Gary Ross, Michael Bay and Sam Raimi, Tedi has several screenplays and TV shows in development and Constantine Films recently optioned his new spec pilot Unstable with Shaun Reddick (Get Out) producing. When he’s not writing or fulfilling his duties as CEO of Barefoot Sound, the leading manufacturer of pro audio recording monitors used by musical giants Sir Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl and Pharrell, to name a few, he’s playing a mean guitar.

Matt Plaxco began studying film and art at and early age and holds a BFA from Arts Center College of Design. His work as a cinematographer has taken him all over the world. In 2017, he shot 3 movies in the US and music videos in 3 different countries; one of which took him to SXSW2017 and another that was voted as one of IMVDB's Best Music Videos of the Year for 2017. He’s worked with some of the best directors in the commercial and music video worlds, and clients include: ABC, ABC, BET, Lifetime and Microsoft. Known by his peers for his sci-fi cinematic and visually captivating style, he’s proficient with numerous camera systems which include Arri Alexa, Red Epic MX, C300 and Red Dragon, to name a few. He loves telling stories through moving imagery that’s both kinetic and static.

We're blessed to have two renowned global artists providing concept art and storyboards for ROAM: Klaus Wittmann from Warsaw Poland and Steven Yu from Los Angeles California.

Klaus Wittmann is a truly amazing talent, as H.R. Giger was to Alien, and Jean Giraud to Bladerunner, Klaus Wittmann is to ROAM. Each image he creates speaks immeasurably - a picture is worth a thousand words - and there's a reason Klaus is on Hollywood's most wanted list. You can see his work spread across numerous big budget video games and features. He has a keen eye for science fiction and the cyber-punk genre. https://www.artstation.com/klauswittmann

Christie Claude was born and raised in Florida. Her love of literature, especially the works of New Orleans’ authors Truman Capote and Tennessee Williams, inspired her to relocate to NOLA in 2011, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Creative Writing from Loyola University. Film classes and background roles inspired her to take acting classes. After a couple of years traveling the country and working as a printmaker’s apprentice, barista, transcriptionist, and po-boy shop waitress, she packed her bags into a two door Honda Civic and drove to LA to fully commit to acting. She now resides in a renovated 1955 Kenskill camper in Highland Park, Los Angeles and works as a model and actress. In addition to ROAM, she’s booked leading roles in two short films in 2018. She's an enthusiastic advocate for gender balance in the entertainment industry and is excited to devote more time in the upcoming year to working with organizations that elevate women in film.

Josh Connor was born in Texas, but moved around the country with his military family until his high school years where he settled in Asheville, North Carolina. He attended Lees-Mcrae College and the University of North Carolina- Asheville where he took acting classes and participated in numerous plays before graduating with a BA in History. He moved to Los Angeles in 2014 to further pursue his acting dreams, landing numerous music videos such as John Newman and Kodaline, and commercials including Heineken, Quiznos and Virgin Mobile. Josh is living his dream by just walking the same streets as his long time idols, such as Paul Newman, Buster Keaton and Gary Oldman. He looks forward to enjoying the journey that this career can offer him and lives in appreciation of the moment.

Rachael Bower, originally from Dallas, TX, has been performing her whole life. After receiving her Theatre degree from Pace University in NYC, she made the move to Los Angeles. Highlights so far include playing a ditzy intern in “Hot Winter” (an Official Sundance short film selection) to working with David Lynch on the Twin Peaks Revival. Rachael’s other hobbies include singing, racing go-karts, Yoga and baking.

William Spencer, aka The Skate Ninja, was born in New River, AZ, and spent his childhood in Texas and Colorado. William is a one of a kind actor-athlete, breaking boundaries and pushing the envelope on four wheels. With a signature style, his bag of tricks mixes Parkour with skateboarding and he’s constantly redefining the laws of acrobatics and stunts. As a child, William studied Karate and kicked his opponents’ butts all the way to a child’s black belt. As a high school student, he fell in love with skateboarding and in 2007 he burst onto the scene when he did a front flip down ten stairs and landed on his skateboard for his grand finale trick in a skate video. His dedication, training, talent and passion have led him to become a professional stuntman in Hollywood. Some of his work includes: Skate God, CHIPS, Fear The Walking Dead, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, Project X and Andrew Garfield’s stunt double in both installments of The Amazing Spiderman. His biggest influences are Jackie Chan and Daniel Ilabaca, the British Parkour innovator. Widely recognized in the skateboarding sub-culture as a master of his art, William is a content machine, constantly churning out skate videos on Instagram, many of which have gone viral on YouTube. He was recently the first featured skater in Red Bull’s “Out of Frame” series.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

Every single penny donated to this campaign goes to the production of ROAM.

Traditionally, shooting Science Fiction dictates the use of color, neon light and super high-end cameras to capture magnificent moving imagery and tell a fascinating story. And while we may break a few rules to achieve artistic vision, the famed Sci-Fi look is one we're strongly holding onto. We want ROAM to look as professional and breathtaking as possible. When the credits role, we want you to want more.

Locations - We're building elaborate four wall sets from the ground up as well as renting locations rarely seen before in other films. We want our environments to look and feel authentic, and although we're savvy negotiators, locations come with a sizable price tag. If we could ROAM in the bodies of the landowners to give us a better deal, we would.

Props - The world of ROAM, which is scientific, virtually futuristic and intricate, calls for specific, detailed props that require extensive planning and fabrication. Even though Jessee and his team are very resourceful and are working for very little money, they still need the appropriate materials to make the cool props we need for the film. And who knows, maybe in the process, they’ll develop an actual working prototype of the ROAM device.

Catering - Our three day shooting schedule is very tight and we’re going to be asking our cast and crew to work extremely hard for little to no pay. And without food and water, we may hit our breaking point. While most films have catering buffets consisting of beef, chicken, fish, veggies, salads, potatoes, pastas and deserts, we'll be ordering from the local deli for inexpensive but tasty and satisfying sandwiches.

Insurance - No matter how much a production plans and prepares for a shoot, accidents can happen. In the event, and God forbid, anything goes wrong, our cast and crew will be covered.

VFX - ROAM is not an extremely VFX driven film, but it is Science Fiction, and gadgets, bullets, explosions and comps need to be generated. When producing a low-budget, high-concept short, VFX vs. practical effects saves time and money on the day. In order to blow your mind, we need a top-level artist to knock this out of the park.

HOW DOES KICKSTARTER WORK?

Backers pledge an amount and choose a reward. At the end of our 30-day Kickstarter campaign, if the combined total of all pledges meets our goal, then the credit cards of those who've pledged are charged and we receive the funds to finish ROAM. If we don't meet our goal, then the money is not withdrawn from your account and no rewards are provided. If the campaign exceeds our financial goal, the extra funds will be used to make our film even better. All funds raised are used directly in the finishing of ROAM.

Thank you for taking the time to check out ROAM. Any contribution seriously helps, and if you can’t spare a dime, we understand but ask that you share this page with a family member or friend that might. This is a very ambitious project and we can’t make it happen without your support. Thanks!

Risks and challenges
