Reviews from Angels in America Part I in March:
“Powerful stuff” – Jack Garner, Democrat & Chronicle
“Gripping”- Michael Lasser, City Newspaper
- Angels in America Part II by Tony Kushner- an epic play and a marathon performance of both part on September 9!.
- Presented in the Nextstage at Geva Theatre Center in Rochester, NY in August and September.
- We are raising money to mount this hugely important and hugely-in-scale production! On a wing and a prayer, we need $3,500 to get us to opening night.
We have to fly our Angel and that takes a lot of feathers. There are plenty of other costumes too, from the 13th century Prior of Prior to the Angel. We have a tastefully spare stage design, but we still need to find a few things more like an armchair, a hospital bed and...well... there's the Angel.
Synopsis: ““The Great Work continues…” Angels in America is set in late 1985 and early 1986, as the first wave of the AIDS epidemic in America is escalating and Ronald Reagan has been elected to a second term in the White House. Ranging from earth to heaven, from the political to the intimate to the visionary and supernatural, Angels in America is an epic exploration of love, justice, identity and theology, of the difficulty, terror and necessity of change.
