New Website & Shipping News

Posted by David Hellman & Tevis Thompson (Creator)

Hi, everyone.

Some exciting news to finally share: rewards began shipping from Fangamer today! Domestic backers should receive their packages in the next week (international shipping will take a bit longer), and those in the $125+ tiers should look for 2 separate shipments. We’ll also be sending out the digital version of Second Quest in an update later this week, so please be on the lookout for that.

In the meantime, check out our brand new website:

It was a real challenge figuring out how to present Second Quest to the public since we’ve been immersed in it for so long. To help us, we asked a small number of backers to read an early copy and tell us what they thought. Reactions were fascinatingly diverse but one common refrain was: this isn’t what I thought it would be! Mostly that was a good thing, but it made us think that perhaps the website could reintroduce Second Quest to our backers as well.

If all you remember from our Kickstarter is a Zelda-inspired comic about some kind of quest, then the site may surprise you. Second Quest is a more focused and unusual tale than you may be expecting. The character portraits and world map we’ve included offer only oblique hints about the narrative, but they will give you a good sense of the scope and tone of our story. We’ve also included a full 20-page sample if you want to know more.

Second Quest is not a traditional quest. It is an intimate, personal quest that plays both into and against expectations. It is treacherous yet obvious, in a world both alluring and broken. It is ultimately a provocation, one that we hope raises difficult questions that have no easy answers.

More to come in a few days,

p.s. We want to particularly thank the following backers for their thoughtful feedback: Julie Wenzel, John H. Crandall, Karen Luk, Paul Segal, Samantha K, Emma Barnes, Ben Rugg, Brent Lindquist, Alexandra, and Abilash Pulicken.
