You guys never fulfilled my pledge...

Sorry you haven't received your book yet, Anthony. Did you respond to the survey Fangamer emailed you in either February or mid-April? If not, write them at to get another survey. If you did fill it out already, let me know so I can write them and find out what happened. Either way, we'll make sure the book gets to you!

Hey guys I just wanted to say that I never got mine in the mail and been 3 weeks I don't know if it got lost in the mail or what but I do know that I received the digital copy and now I'm getting a little annoyed. I know it's not your fault but what should I do?

    4. David Hellman & Tevis Thompson Creator on May 7, 2015

Wonderful to hear the books are arriving all around the world! The final backer reward - the digital Treasure Trove - will be coming out next week.

    5. Eric on May 7, 2015

      Got mine in the UK

    6. David on April 28, 2015

@Creators: I had my first read through yesterday and loved it! I noticed a lot of references, but I'll have to read it again to catch them all :)

You did an amazing job with this comic, thanks a lot!

      Thank you, Michael!

Mathieu and ClementXVII, we're so glad to hear packages are starting to arrive in Europe. We were afraid they might take longer. Hope you enjoy the book!

@Creators: Second Quest just showed up in Belgium (along with the T-shirt and art print). It looks awesome and I can't wait to read it.

      Thanks a lot!

got mine too in France. Nice looking book that I have to read, now. :)

    12. Michael Stearns on April 24, 2015

It arrived! Another green checkbox on my Backed Project list--congrats on completion!

    13. David Hellman & Tevis Thompson Creator on April 22, 2015

Thank you, Eric! We are so glad you helped this happen.

And thanks for the suggestion, Philippe. We were concerned about locking down the file into the 2-page format for tablets (too small on the screen). Even with the CBZ (which more easily allows you to connect pages). But we're glad you could adjust the file for your own use. We wanted readers to have that flexibility.

    14. Philippe Morin on April 21, 2015

Hi! You could edit your PDF version of the book with a software like Acrobat Pro and make it default so that the document always open with two pages next to each other. There is even a mode that exclude both covers so that they appears alone. (Sorry for my poor English. ;) )

Since your document isn't protected, I edited myself with this fix. ;) Quite useful!

    15. Eric Leslie on April 20, 2015

My copy arrived this afternoon and I too am thrilled with the quality. I held off on reading the PDF so that I could experience it in hardcover, and I'm looking forward to doing so. Congratulations. Proud to have helped this happen.

    16. David Hellman & Tevis Thompson Creator on April 20, 2015

      *they've* arrived, oops.

    17. David Hellman & Tevis Thompson Creator on April 20, 2015

Brian and Xminus1: So glad they're arrived! We're really happy with the quality of the physical books too.

Tumor: Not necessarily. We've been really focused on just finishing the book and completing our original idea. Second Quest is meant to stand on its own, and the ending is not setting up a specific sequel. Not that we aren’t open to possibilities.

      ~ Tevis

    18. Brian Niedzielski on April 20, 2015

WOW Got the physical book the other day and it's amazing, most definitely worth the wait.

    19. Xminus1 on April 18, 2015

After a few years of waiting just got my book today thanks so much

    20. Tumor on April 18, 2015

So there is going to be more I take it? I just got finished reading it.

    21. David Hellman & Tevis Thompson Creator on April 17, 2015

Dr. Cat ~ I think in your case you haven't received any notice from Fangamer because you're only getting the ebook version. That's coming very soon!

ClementXVII ~ Thanks for fielding the question. I do hope the international shipping doesn't take too long!

@Dr. Cat, since Fangamer is handling the fulfillment of this kickstarter, we got a few mails from them asking to fill in our shipping address.

If you haven't done anything, you might want to contact the project creators, to see what happened.

For my part, I got a mail from Fangamer asking to verify my address a day or so before I got my shipping notification.

    23. Dr. Cat on April 16, 2015

Hey, where do I set/change my shipping address? I've moved 4 times since I backed this! Hope you haven't already shipped mine.

Were the pdf's ever released for digital backers? I see a comment below about February, but I assume that hasn't happened yet.

    27. David Hellman & Tevis Thompson Creator on February 14, 2015

Thanks, Bjorn. Very much appreciate the questions. The new Zelda certainly looks promising, but then I've also thought that about previous Zeldas. So I'm hopeful but wary. "Rethinking the conventions of Zelda" can mean so many things, you know. But I'll definitely be writing about it when it finally comes out, and no doubt Second Quest will play into that. So let's just hope they finish by the end of the year!

      Hey David and Tevis!
I've been silently anticipating this book every week since the KS, it's gonna be a huge event to finally read your hard work. Your ideas, thoughts and sentiments resonate with me wholeheartedly, as far back as to the original article.

But, I have a curiousity I would love to be explored, since the inception of this book a new Zelda has been announced - one very far from your original complaint on modern Zeldas.

What is your thoughts on the new Zelda? Do you think we're finally seeing a modern Zelda with proper homage to its roots?

I would love to see a new article with your new perspective from creating this book and playing the new Zelda - it would be the ultimate nerdgasm for a lot of us out there! :)

      Sincerely epically yours,

    29. David Hellman & Tevis Thompson Creator on January 28, 2015

Hi, John. There might be a chance. The dust jacket David has created is certainly cool. Look for a survey from Fangamer soon about fulfillment and make your request for an upgrade there. If possible, it will be through them.
      ~ Tevis

    30. John H. Crandall on January 20, 2015

Any chance I can pay $15 more and get the book with the dust jacket? I "lamely" only pledged $35 2 years ago.

    31. Tumor on December 10, 2014

Definitely understand. Thanks for the quick response!

    32. David Hellman & Tevis Thompson Creator on December 9, 2014

I understand. We are impatient too. It has more to do with how we want to release it, not preparing the files. We can't do the full launch to effectively promote SQ until February, and we don't want it floating around digitally for months beforehand. There's tons to do to prepare for the release, and we really don't want to separate the digital and print book timing by much. Backers will get it earlier than everyone else, but it will be a matter of weeks, not months. Hope you understand.

    33. Tumor on December 9, 2014

Dont get me wrong, Im just excited for it. Been waiting patiently for 2 years, now that its finished, I am impatient.

    34. Tumor on December 9, 2014

One more question... It takes two months to transfer to PDF? Im only asking, because the original timeline has the digital version "shipping" sooner than the physical stuff.

    35. David Hellman & Tevis Thompson Creator on December 9, 2014

You'll be able to download the digital version in February, around the time the physical books ship to backers.

    36. Tumor on December 8, 2014

So its finished... when can we download it?

    37. David on October 18, 2014

      Hello guys

Second quest is coming but not in winter xD

I am not agree with your last email : i think 2 years is not excessive to craft a quality product like your project.
(I am currently writting a book about redesign website & front-end best practice started in 2012 too. My job is just writting, you must storytelling + drawing + print + ship final product. What a complex system!)

Don't panic & remember this : your work is amazing !

    38. David Hellman & Tevis Thompson Creator on October 18, 2014

Trevor and Eric - Yes! Please check out our latest update, just posted.

    39. Eric on October 18, 2014

Ditto on the update! Did you manage to get the book to Fangamer in August, or did that slip? Would be good to just know roughly where things are at present.

Hello, are there any updates on progress so far?

    41. David Hellman & Tevis Thompson Creator on May 29, 2014

Jacob - Yeah, we won't be sending the surveys until we deliver the book to Fangamer, so that should give us the most up-to-date info for shipping. Look for the survey this fall.
Brent - I don't think we can change tiers in Kickstarter itself, but we should be able to figure out some manual change in the fall. Remind me about this when we send the surveys.

Just wondering when the survey for rewards is going to be put up, hopefully the same time the release date is established? I had read the last update, and then realized that I was going to be moving soon and needed to update my information, before realizing that I had never filled out a survey, since there hasn't been one.

    43. Brent Lindquist on May 28, 2014

Hey guys, can't wait to see the book! Just curious, is there any way to upgrade to the magic dust jacket? I'm currently under the $35 "THE BOOK" tier.

    44. David Hellman & Tevis Thompson Creator on May 25, 2014

Hi, Tyler. New update about that in just a few days. And we have a lot more to show in the coming weeks. Thanks for your patience!

@David & Tevis, Thanks for the quick update, much appreciated.

    47. David Hellman & Tevis Thompson Creator on March 18, 2014

Hi, Eric. We're actually pretty close to determining that release date. We just need to finalize the timing and logistics for the end stages. Once we do, we'll update everyone. It's still more months than weeks, but we're getting close!
      ~ Tevis

    48. Eric on March 13, 2014

Wondered if you might be able to give us a feel for progress now we've reached spring 2014, are we weeks from finishing or months? Not after a firm date or anything!

    49. Tyler shay on January 18, 2014

Haha thank you I completely missed that update when it came out!!
