Yukon Salon is a creative, fast-paced card game for 2-4 players competing to be the best stylist in the Yukon by styling hairdos for Grizzly Bears and beards for Lumberjacks.
Each client that you style rewards you with a combination of points to win the game and abilities and bonuses to help attempt riskier styles on more difficult clients.
Sway the clients into choosing your style by making outrageous, unique claims and press your luck to earn the right mix of points and rewards.

The Parks and Beauty Agency Beautician's Training Manual
The Parks and Beauty Agency Beautician's Training Manual is a 32-page booklet that details the history and selling points of every unique style in the game, providing creative jumping-off points for when you need to make up some flattery to sell your clients on the style you want them to wear. It also provides a glimpse into the absurd, cheeky world of Yukon Salon, where the Canadian government decided to subsidize the beautification of forest dwellers during the height of beauty parlours in popular culture.
My favorite thing about this stretch goal, is I get to write some of the entries in the Training Manual alongside this star-studded lineup of guest authors:

We ♥ Friendly Local Game Stores
This project is retailer-friendly. I’m offering the Kickstarter version of the game during the campaign to brick-and-mortar game stores. Retailer backers will receive their rewards before I release the game into distribution. Please click here to send me a private message to inquire about retail rates and verify your status as a retailer.
We will be charging shipping after the Kickstarter concludes based on the actual costs incurred to ship. We will collect this via our pledge manager, BackerKit, after the campaign ends. This is so we can be fair to all our backers as shipping is rarely one size fits all, and also give you more stretch goal rewards and any additional material you might want.
Following is a list of rough estimates for shipping a standard 6" x 4" x 1" game package (10 oz. volumetric weight). Keep in mind these are just estimates, and costs may rise based on weight increases from unlocked stretch goals and any optional buys you choose, or straight-up postal rate changes.
1 copy $6.00
2 copies: $12.00
1 copy $7.50 to most countries
2 copies: $12 to most countries
If you're local to the Seattle area and would like to pick up your game in person, I'll include an option for that in the backer survey so you can skip the postage! I may be able to make this an option for Portland backers as well, if there are enough.

Risks and challenges
I ran a Kickstarter project for the game Oh My God! There's An Axe In My Head (as Game Company No. 3) and successfully delivered it despite encountering delays and unexpected production issues during manufacturing. Because of that experience I've already secured printing with AdMagic and fulfillment through Card Kingdom in advance of launching Yukon Salon. In addition, I'll be using BackerKit to help ensure organized fulfillment post-campaign.
I've also enlisted Simon Berman as a consultant on this project. Simon has successfully managed seven Kickstarter projects. His experience and advice are invaluable and help keep me on track.
That said, it’s not impossible that I'll run into issues. Most of the game is already print-ready but I could always hit the regular types of delays that occur across all types of Kickstarter projects; getting the printing process right, making sure the cards and packaging are up to my standards, etc. In the event of any issues I will strive to be as transparent as possible and keep backers up to date as things develop.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
