Following the successful Kickstarter campaign that led to the creation of Guards Against Insanity Edition 1, we are back to launch our second and third GAI expansions.
What is Guards Against Insanity?
Guards Against Insanity is a naughty Cards Against Humanity expansion pack for even more horrible people.
What makes Guards Against Insanity different?
Guards Against Insanity will take your Cards Against Humanity experience to a darker, more uncomfortable place. So, if you have a dark sense of humor and find some of the existing CAH cards a little too tame, we'd love to have your support!
You say that these new cards are dark. Just how dark are we talking?
That's difficult to answer as what some people find shocking and even borderline offensive, others may consider tame. We recommend downloading this free pdf of our Edition 1 cards as it will give you a good idea of what's in store.
Each edition gets a little more risqué than the last. So if you thought some of our edition 1 cards crossed the line, we'd strongly recommend that you don't back this Kickstarter. On the other hand, if you liked Edition 1 and want more of the same, you're going to LOVE what we've got in store.
Will the cards fit in with my other decks?
In a word, yes. You'll get casino quality, linen finish cards that are the same thickness and dimensions as your existing Cards Against Humanity cards. They will therefore seamlessly integrate with your existing pack.
The new card ideas are in the final stages of being tested and we will be using the same manufacturer who printed edition 1 as the cards they delivered have been extremely well received. We therefore expect our backers to receive their new cards around March 2016.
Why is no shipping charged to US backers?
We will be using Amazon.com to ship the cards to all US backers. As many people in America have Amazon Prime and already get free shipping, it seemed wrong to charge extra for this. Even if you're not an Amazon Prime customer, you will still get free shipping on Amazon orders over $35.
US backers will therefore be sent an Amazon coupon so that they can get the cards for free and they will just need to pay the shipping fees themselves if there are any.
Are these cards in US or UK English?
We have primarily selected words which are spelt the same in both US and UK English as we wanted our cards to have universal appeal. In the rare instance that these words differ, the US spelling has been used as Americans and Canadians formed the largest group of our Edition 1 backers.
Have you ever done this kind of thing before?
Yes, we successfully funded the creation of Guards Against Insanity Edition 1 earlier this year and the feedback we've received from our backers has been extremely positive as you can see from the reviews we've had on both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk
It did take longer to get the cards shipped than we originally planned, however we now have existing relationships with our manufacturer and freight forwarding company. As the cards are already designed we're confident that we'll be able to get these into the hands of our backers by March 2016.
If you haven't already got your copy of Guards Against Insanity Edition 1, you can buy it here.

Risks and challenges
The main challenge we originally faced was finding a manufacturer that was able to produce the cards to the high standards that we demanded. These cards need to stand up to heavy use and as most people tend to drink whilst playing CAH they need to be durable enough to withstand getting a little wet.
Ensuring our cards are manufactured to the highest possible standard is still our number one priority. If you back this kickstarter you will be rewarded with a pack of cards you'll be proud to call your own.
For this Kickstarter campaign we will be using the same manufacturer as before as we are extremely pleased with the quality of the Edition 1 cards.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
