Confessions is an adult party game from the creators of Guards Against Insanity.
How do you play?
Confessions is a simple bluffing game. You read a card prompt and tell a story, giving as many or as few details as you want. The other players guess if you're telling the truth or a lie. The genius? The card prompts range from hilarious to fantastically awkward.
We've kept the rules elegantly simple which means that it's possible to learn how to play Confessions in less than a minute.
Why do I need to own this game?
Playing Confessions will lead to some beautifully awkward moments with you and your friends.
If you enjoy playing games like Cards Against Humanity, Never Have I Ever & Exploding Kittens, it's likely that you'll LOVE playing Confessions.
Here's a video of a few people playing Confessions for the first time:
Our favorite confession is Anthony's [5:25 - 7:05] which is priceless...
What if I don't want to admit to something?
As Confessions is a bluffing game, there's no need to worry if you don’t want to reveal all of your past indiscretions.
Simply make up a story and see if you can convince your friends that it’s true.
Is this a family game?
We've designed Confessions to work best with groups of friends. You could play Confessions with your family, but it would be incredibly awkward.
Due to the adult nature of the game, we recommend that it's played by guys and girls who are 17+ years of age.
Confessions is a great party game as there's no steep learning curve or time investment to learn how to play.
Can this be played as a drinking game?
You bet your sweet ass it can! Confessions is an AWESOME drinking game and the alternative drinking rules will also be included with the game.
Is there a limit on how many people can play?
Nope. The great thing about Confessions is that there's no limit on how many people can play.
From experience, we've found that 4 to 10 players works best.
The original game includes 10 voting cards to help with the scoring. The Bachelor and Bachelorette editions each include 16 voting cards and with a piece of paper and a pen, you can play with as many people as you like.
Why is no shipping charged?
We will be using Amazon to ship the cards to all US, UK & Canadian backers. As many people already have Amazon Prime and therefore get free shipping, it seemed wrong to charge extra for this.
Even if you're not an Amazon Prime customer, you will still get free shipping on Amazon orders over $49 in the US, over £20 in the UK and over $35 in Canada.
Backers will be sent an Amazon coupon so that they can get Confessions for free and they will just need to pay the shipping fees themselves if there are any.
Are these cards in US or UK English?
We have primarily selected words which are spelt the same in both US and UK English as we wanted our cards to have universal appeal.
In the rare instance that these words differ, the US spelling has been used as in the past, Americans and Canadians have formed the largest group of our backers.
What will I get sent?
Each Confessions pack includes 308 cards (298 Confession cards & 10 voting cards) plus the full game instructions. All of this will be sent to you in an incredibly sturdy (not to mention beautifully designed) box.
We've intentionally avoided making the Confession cards too specific to help increase the replay value of the game.
Have you ever done this kind of thing before?
Yes, we successfully funded the creation of Guards Against Insanity and the feedback we've received from our backers has been extremely positive.
Here are a few reviews of Confessions from Amazon.com:
Risks and challenges
The quality of the cards, box and instructions is of the highest importance to us. We've already nailed the content and we don't want to let our backers down by giving them anything less than the perfect game.
We're therefore using the same manufacturer that prints our ASYLUM Guards Against Insanity pack to print the Confessions cards and the new Bachelor & Bachelorette editions.
They're a little more expensive, but we feel that it's well worth the investment, especially when you take into account the premium look and feel of their card stock.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
