Your friends all have funny and embarrassing stories which you've either never heard or have simply forgotten.
Confessions: The Game of Secrets & Lies is an adult party game from the creators of Guards Against Insanity.
How do you play?
We've kept the rules elegantly simple which means that it's possible to learn how to play Confessions in under a minute.
On your turn, you pick up and read a Confessions card aloud. You'll then finish telling the story.
The other players then vote on whether what you said was either true or a big fat lie.
You get 1 point for each player who guessed wrong and all players who gave the right answer also receive 1 point.
The person with the most points after 3 complete rounds wins the game.
What if I don't want to admit to something?
As Confessions is a bluffing game, there's no need to worry if you don’t want to reveal all your past indiscretions.
Simply make up a story and see if you can convince your friends that it’s true.
Who is Confessions aimed at?
Playing Confessions will lead to some beautifully awkward moments with you and your friends.
If you enjoy playing games like Cards Against Humanity, Guards Against Insanity, Never Have I Ever & Exploding Kittens, it's likely that you'll LOVE playing Confessions.
Can this be played as a drinking game?
You bet your sweet ass it can! Confessions is an AWESOME drinking game and the alternative drinking rules will also be included with the game.
What will I get sent?
Each Confessions pack includes 308 cards (298 Confession cards & 10 voting cards) plus the full game instructions. All of this will be sent to you in an incredibly sturdy (not to mention beautifully designed) box.
Is there a limit on how many people can play?
Nope. The great thing about Confessions is that there's no limit on how many people can play.
From experience, we've found that 4 to 10 players works best.
The game itself includes 10 voting cards to help with the scoring, but with a piece of paper and a pen, you can play with as many people as you like.
What kind of statements are on the cards?
The Confession cards have been carefully designed to extract as many juicy stories from your friends as humanly possible.
Your friend's best stories are often of a fairly personal nature which they may not have voluntarily shared before. That will all change when the Confession card they read out gives them the opportunity to put some serious points on the board...
We've also intentionally avoided making the Confession cards too specific to help increase the replay value of the game.
Is this a family game?
We've designed Confessions to work best with groups of friends. You could play Confessions with your family, but it would be incredibly awkward.
Due to the adult nature of the game, we recommend that it's played by guys and girls who are 17+ years of age.
Confessions is a great party game as there's no steep learning curve or time investment to learn how to play.
Why is no shipping charged to US & UK backers?
We will be using Amazon to ship the cards to all US & UK backers. As many people in America have Amazon Prime and already get free shipping, it seemed wrong to charge extra for this.
Even if you're not an Amazon Prime customer, you will still get free shipping on Amazon orders over $49 in the US & over £20 in the UK.
US & UK backers will be sent an Amazon coupon so that they can get Confessions for free and they will just need to pay the shipping fees themselves if there are any.
Are these cards in US or UK English?
We have primarily selected words which are spelt the same in both US and UK English as we wanted our cards to have universal appeal.
In the rare instance that these words differ, the US spelling has been used as in the past, Americans and Canadians have formed the largest group of our backers.
Have you ever done this kind of thing before?
Yes, we successfully funded the creation of Guards Against Insanity Editions 1, 2 & 3 and the feedback we've received from our backers has been extremely positive as you can see from the reviews we've had on both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk
When will I receive my cards?
As the cards are already designed, we're hopeful that we'll be able to get these into the hands of our backers by December 2016, just in time for Christmas.
Risks and challenges
The quality of the cards, box and instructions is of the highest importance to us. We've already nailed the content and we don't want to let our backers down by giving them anything less than the perfect game.
We're therefore using the same manufacturer that prints our ASYLUM Guards Against Insanity pack to print the Confessions cards.
They're a little more expensive, but we feel that it's well worth the investment, especially when you take into account the premium look and feel of their card stock.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
