A CHALLENGE WITH 3 WEEKS TO GO
Two weeks ago I e-mailed you to announce the launch of my Kickstarter funding effort to support my new album. Your response to that announcement has been overwhelming. In thirteen days, I have gathered $12,000 in pledges and have gone well beyond my original goal. My deep thanks to all who have played a part in making this come together so quickly and completely.
Although I have met my original goal, I have not raised enough money to cover all the expenses associated with making this album. My hope is to continue this amazing momentum and to raise an additional $3,000 in the 20 days remaining on my Kickstarter effort. If I'm successful in meeting that goal, I will have the means necessary to defray costs associated with post-production, packaging, and distribution. A record is only of value if people get to hear it, and unfortunately it takes considerable resources to make that happen.
A CHALLENGE: Peter Monaco, friend, music lover, backer, and executive producer of this project will match every dollar donated from now until the end of the funding period on February 25th up to $2,600. (Peter has already matched $2,400 raised in just the last 3 days). So, every dollar you donate really means $2 toward the project. A $25 pledge becomes $50; a $100 pledge becomes $200; and a $500 pledge becomes $1,000.
I hope you'll take a look at my project page and video and consider backing this project for one of the great rewards listed.
Recording begins on March 3rd at Emerson Torrey's studio in East Greenwich, RI. Ben Champoux (drums) and Michael Kopko (bass) and I have been spending time this week arranging and rehearsing the songs, and we all feel like we're onto something really special with this record. I can't wait to share it all with you. We'll be shooting lots of video in the studio and will keep a running blog so that backers can literally watch the music take shape.
As always, thank you for your support!
