My goal was to create a little extension cord to use for small in-house jobs. Like charging your laptop, drilling a hole, connecting a lamp etc.
I wanted it to be just there, in the middle of your living room without being obstructive and with a good working cable. If you need it, you now where it is and you can just take it, without a hustle.
The plugbook is made in the shape of a book which hides itself between your other books. When you need it, just take it out and pull the cord. Simple as that! Inside the book is 10 feet/3 meter of cable. We also added an extra power socket and 2 USB ports to easily charge your iPad, iPhone, Smartphone, Camera and many other devices. And when you don’t need it anymore you press the button and the cord automatically rewinds itself (like in a vacuum cleaner). And just put it back on the bookshelf ready to go for next time.
Basically on any place with a power socket. It's made for those little jobs such as feeding your laptop, power your tools, plugging in the iron, charge your camera/smartphone/tablet and probably much more!
Before getting involved with Kickstarter I wanted to make sure the project was completely ready. I looked for a company to further develop my plugbook and found Designcord. Designcord is a Dutch company specialized in plugs, sockets and specially auto-rewind cables. The perfect match! Together we made sure the plugbook is ready for production, including matching all safety regulations and certification requirements. We made several technical drawings and a 3D print to make sure it all works properly. Therefore, the produced model will look exactly the same as these images.
We have one special option, called color suggestion. We would like you to think of the new plugbook color! The color which is suggested by most of you will actually be produced. When the project is closed we will send you an e-mail with a list of colors to vote for. The color with the most votes wins and will be produced. If you don't like it you can just pick to the black or white version.

I have made it so far developing the plugbook. The only thing I need now is money to invest in molds, certifications, packaging etc. Only then I can kick off! If we reach the goal. I will make sure to keep you posted on every step in the proces, from making the mold to the first product to the final packing!

And thanks for publishing :)
No, sorry. We definitely want to add other versions in the future. But we had to start somewhere so we took the 2 most used types. ( Each version requires a new mold which is expensive) If everything works out well we will add other countries.
