@Chris: we agree, April still seems far away. Stay tuned for a Kickstarter update next week, showing the latest features and the production schedule.

For now, one of our Dev Kit backers posted a video on YouTube of his kids playing the pre-production prototype: https://youtu.be/tAS9aA7XFqk

Can we see some more videos in action? April can't come soon enough. Lol.

@Dustin: great question. Our test setup includes KORG Volca's and a Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator. We are testing with the KORG SyncKontrol iPhone app as well so you should be able to use the app with the Dato DUO.

    4. Dustin Lyday on December 22

How can we sync iPhone apps like Garage Band? You mention that the Korg Volca syncs. Volca syncs to iPhone apps via the Korg SyncKontrol iPhone app. Does this mean we can use SyncKontrol with DataDuo? This would be a great low friction set up for kids. Thanks!

      Hi Carolyn,

Thanks for contacting us! We are always happy to hear from our backers. The Dev-Kit pre-production prototypes were just shipped to a limited number of backers. We will be shipping everyone's DUO's in April 2017, so please be patient.

Hope this answers your question, if anything is unclear or you have other questions please let us know.

      All the best
      Toon

@Chris: stay tuned. We have a very nice update planned for this week.

    8. Chris Marks on September 30, 2016

Can you please post some more videos of this amazing bit of kit??? I've watched all the current ones over and over. Lol.

@Dustin: we'll make sure the wait is worth your while. We like using the Dato DUO with a bit of distortion and some delay, so keep your eye out for those.

I'm anxiously waiting to share music synthesis with my little boy. In the mean time, I'll be collecting old FX petals so my 4-5 year old can really get physical in 2017.

Thanks dato, after project support is a big point for me so I appreciate your openness to be there for the backers :-)

    12. Dato Creator on June 17, 2016

@Joshua: We will be around for support and repairs after the rewards have been shipped. Also, we will provide tutorials and a support section on the website for any assistance you might need. We don't have specific info yet, but our contact details will be stated clearly on our website once the Kickstarter campaign is finished. If anything pops up, contact us and we will try to work it out.

Hello dato! I just wanted to know what the process would be after we get our product then at some stage we run into an issue or we need some assistance - would it be easy to contact you guys after sale and even with returns (global) or maintenance if necessary?

Can't wait to get this and to start making music on it with my daughter!

    15. Dato Creator on June 5, 2016

@Guille, thanks for backing the Dato DUO! Transpose by semitones is already included – the two red buttons on the sequencer side. The alternative scales are something we are looking into but no promises yet.

    16. Guille Mostaza on June 4, 2016

Hi! Just supported your proyect. I'm an early proud owner of a Dato! Sugestion: chromatic, major and minor scales (amd transpose) option. This would turn this machine in a serious creative little monster. I'm father, producer, composer and recording studio owner, it would be great if I can use it everywhere! Thanks.

@Garrett, thanks for pledging. I'm sure you'll also have a blast once you get it :)

      I'm in for one.

Excellent choice on going with a pentatonic keyboard, and it looks very approachable.

I'm sure my son will have a blast once we get it.

@Andrew Lillie, thanks for your pledge. Your support is much appreciated!

@Doodle3D, thanks for vouching for us. And sorry for all the blippy bloopy tunes that we play on our prototype all the time :)

    20. Andrew Lillie on May 27, 2016

What a lovely idea. Made me smile to watch your pitch video. I can't really justify buying a Dato right now, but I've chipped in some spare change in the hopes that it'll get you closer to making your goal!

    21. Doodle3D on May 27, 2016

We from @doodle3d share our office with David and Toon, the guys behind guys behind Dato! We like their project very much. We think you will like it too!
