Wheels added!

Hello again!

A fellow on DakkaDakka asked for wheels, and after pondering the idea for a while, we decided that a set of scalable wheels to be used with scalable tracks to create your own rolling stock is a really good idea - wether within this campaign or later.

So, we looked at the wheels we already made to enable existing 1:100 trains to better fit our tracks, glued the halfs together and printed them in several scales:

A good start and the way to go for scales below 1:100, but for larger scales these are a bit massive.

We then looked at images of wheels, and decided that spoked wheels look like a good start. We made these fully spoked and added two driving wheels and a smaller wheel for draisines.

While creating axles or a wagon bed with STL is a possibility, the stability of just the axle is a problem, and a wagon bed would restrict the options. So we just made a hole that will fit a typical toothpick when used in 1:56 and is 1.1mm in 1:100 - if you are willing to build your own wagons or locomotives, you surely will find a way to make them fit.

 Thats for now.

To make it official:

We will add two sets of wheels in 1:100 that scale down or up (whatever you need) to build your own rolling stock! Beside those shown here we will also add some full wheels for more modern equipment.

If this campaign will fail, these will go online anyway on a 3d-platform, so just keep the ideas coming.

Thanks!
