Have a question?
Finally DRM-free version almost ready, DVD almost ready, console version sometime next year, but will finally done with this campaign, another long slog of waiting completed after way too long. Only good thing to say, the game seems to have turned out well, so there's that much at least.
despite the confusion about your email.. it appears that digital destroyer (30$) will get a console version AS WELL AS the digital PC version (which i already have on steam thru a steam key provided a few years ago). meaning the RR in your steam library will keep getting updated as well as the official final release. please clarify.
Everyone who backed at $17+ tiers will get a console version of their choice on top of the Steam version (was originally supposed to be Xbox 360/ Wii U but now is Xbox One, Switch and PS4).
They stated we will receive it mid 2018.
For those wondering about the recent survey, *I THINK* it's just an addition copy for your console of choice, on top of a steam key (tier dependent).
For your steam key check this: http://roadredemption.boards.net/thread/277/get-steam-key
Bloody SERVAY... I BACKED at $40 And could only choose to pick a STUPID Console, I already own the game on STEAM. Thats where its going to stay. I do not own one of the new consoles and i do not care for those that do.
The Servay made me choose, I am Pissed at this.
Thanks for no other choice.
Confused - just got an email to say reply for your redemption. It says I backed at a console level - which I didnt - and I've still not had any notification about getting my PC (steam presumably) key.
Also is there a deadline on when to select our copy? As would love to see performance on each platform before deciding. :)
Ack! Which version to get! I have an X1, PS4 Pro and a Switch wrapped up ready for the kids at Xmas.
Can you give any info on how the versions will differ? Will the X1/PS4 versions have enhancements for the X/Pro?
Much as I'm tempted by the potentially 'better' Xbox/PS versions I really think this would be cool on a handheld...
Just had survey for which console I want to pick for a 2018 release (Nintendo Switch, PS4 or Xbox one). This is for the $20 pledge.
I'm curious how much will the game cost once release. As I'm torn between two copies (Switch and PS4 currently).
If we backed the ps3 or Xbox 360 tier will we get a reward for Xbox One or PS4? I paid extra for this option on Xbox 360. Maybe I have missed this somewhere but are there any plans to do right by the people that paid for this console version?
Wish this was coming to PS4!!
Still havent recived my digital rewards!
where is my
"CUSTOM CHOPPER DIGITAL TIER
All previous digital rewards + the backer-only D-3X70 CONCEPT motorcycle, for the singleplayer and multiplayer game."
@DarkSeas Games You think you could give us an update on Backer Rewards instead of just stopping in to trash on someone elses game?
I'm saying this not as a developer of Road Redemption right now, but as a gamer.
Do not buy Road Rage unless it is on Steam so you are able to refund it. You can hate me and hate Road Redemption or whatever, but Road Rage is practically unplayable. It has 1.5 stars on Amazon.
Just like Stainless Games (Carmageddon) who steam locked their games and didn't provide DRM-free of anything at all. :-)
You're the reason I kickstopped.
No digital rewards yet?
Developers I have an urgent question about the shipping options. I backed at the $83 tier offering the bike and the tshirt. I've been given an option to swap out my physical goods for some digital ones. I am tempted to do this, but I don't want to lose my bike. If I swap out my t-shirt, will I lose the bike too?
Oh wow! I forgot I even backed this at a console level. I've been enjoying it on Steam, but I am excited to play this on the Switch for the portability!
Finally, teh survey for physical goods are on their way! I got mine and I still hope for a DRM-free version on a disc with its box to eventually play your game.
when am I getting my steam game code? I still don't have the game... I looked on humble bundle too and it's not there either, nor did I get a message through kickstarter(by private message) or by email... is it just me or has a ton of other people not get their code either?
Digital rewards coming soon? I'd really like to get the backer-exclusive bike and weapons ;)
Any details about how the "In the Game" rewards were implemented? Do backers just randomly appear as race mobs? Do they use real names?
Love the game, and love the final build. So friggin' slick!
@Darkseas - One last note, I hope the Physical Disc that goes out isn't littered with DRM. If InXile, Obsidian and other veteran devs can send out DRM-Free discs you can too.
Don't be like the Yooka-Laylee, Full Control & Carmageddon devs who steam locked their games or didn't provide DRM-free of anything at all. It's on PC it's gonna get pirated, that's not surprising, it's been happening since the early 80's, I understand.
This is more about doing what's right, for those who did right by YOU.
@Darkseas, in case I didn't see the response the first time it was multi-posted, I got the message.
Don't care about multiplayer, not my concern about piracy (you guys seriously need to talk to CD Projekt Red about that...), and don't care about Steam.
I care about you as devs keeping your word in cold, hard black & white. "A DRM-free digital copy of the ROAD REDEMPTION GAME upon release." Simple enough.
I just want what I and all of the other backers helped pay for you guys to make your dream project.
The BACKERS are NOT the enemy. We have given our money, our (almost, but not quite) infinite patience, and support. All we ask is now that things are done we get what you promised us when you begged for our $$$$.
That shouldn't be too much to ask for, one wouldn't think?
I've had to spend too much time splitting hairs on this project, Hat in Time and Unsung Story with devs who seem to have forgot who they're doing this for and why they did it.
Remember this when you start to get mad because of all of us needy backers asking for what we paid for.
@Paul Houcke: Check under "Keys" in your HumbleBundle account. You have to wait for the library to complet its loading before searching.
Like BSL, I have no use of these two Steamkeys. I think I'll give them to two relatives while I wait for the DRM-free version I supported with $80.
I'm not in a hurry, I just expect EQ-games to fulfil the promises of Darksea-Games.
I'm having the same trouble as Paul Houcke- I can't find the game in my Keys, purchases or any other tab under the Humble account - I've checked the email addresses and the one on my Humble is the same as the one on my Kickstarter
Thanks for the response Darkseas. How about my backer rewards? Been over 3 years.
We are working on a DRM free version, however it is unlikely that it will have online multiplayer.
We couldn't handle hosting servers for all the pirated copies, and our multiplayer backend depends on Steam to authenticate users.

@Paul Houcke - It's buried in your Purchases tab in your Humble Library.
Go to Purchases tab > search for "road" and it SHOULD come up with Road Redemption at the pledge level you selected with the Steam key in tow.
@Paul(developer)/Dark Seas - While Steam keys are nice, this was posted as a reward for anyone pledging $15 or higher.
"A DRM-free digital copy of the ROAD REDEMPTION GAME upon release."
Steam is DRM (never mind the arguments to the contrary)
If you want to have Humble host a DRM free version of provide a Digital GoG key while I wait for my DRM-Free DVD copy, I'm more than happy to have that since it's part of my pledge anyway.
Right now that 3 year Steam key does as much use to me then as it does now, still no way to play the game I backed all those years ago.
Not picking a fight, just pointing out facts.
Hopefully since development is done this can get straightened out and we all can get what we paid for and move on with things.
I still don't have my code and I tried the link https://www.humblebundle.com/resender. It send me a ton of links to claim keys but Road redemption isn't there. When am I getting my key?
Here's a link for how to claim your Steam key:
>Yea games already getting reviewed and I have never received an email asking for my information to be put in the game.
Your name was put in as a character in the game years ago.
>When am i getting my game code?
You were sent a game code like 3 years ago.
When am i getting my game code?
Yea games already getting reviewed and I have never received an email asking for my information to be put in the game. Emailed twice to PR to no avail.
I played the game Road Redemption and I did not find my name in the game, as my support:
"DIGITAL MASTER - All rewards from previous tiers + access to the exclusive ALPHA VERSIONS OF ROAD REDEMPTION as they are completed + your NAME CARVED in the wood of the gang CLUBHOUSE WALL, in the Road Redemption single player campaign.- $ 40"
Where's my name in the game?
Marcelo Nietto (N13770.U2)
I haven't recieved my code yet, nor is it on humble. Can I get mine sent out?
Now that the game is officially released when will I receive my steam code? I don't have it yet,
When will we receive instructions on how to download our DRM-Free copy?
The game was released on Steam today (04/10) and I have not received the download link from the game as a supporter:
I was not asking myself the name I wanted to put in the game. By the way, my name is in "NAME CARVED in the wood of the gang's CLUBHOUSE WALL" ????
We supporters should not have received the game before everyone ???
Could we get a bit more clarification on the backer rewards?
Considering you guys dropped the Wii U and 360 versions of the game will backers get an alternative choice for one of the console versions when they are released? How about things like having our names in the games "Hall of Fame" or backer exclusive weapons?
I just noticed on Steam a "Super Supporters" edition which includes stuff like the old Alpha, the art book, soundtrack and doc film. I can safely assume that backers will get access to all these right?
Just found this....see my last comment about lack of communication...
Pixel Dash Studios
Lol, when did the studio change names during development.
Yeah I'll be glad when this is done, shipped and over, I wish the team luck (as they clearly have programming talent), but they need to hire a part time PR person as this campaign has always felt like a snipe hunt to me with backers having to trawl google to find shreds of information strewn about the internet for updates, news, etc.
Apologies for the Triple post, just wanted to share this when I saw the PC Gamer article and thought it was "interesting" to see that information about developer name changes....
One thing no one can disagree on is the **** poor lack of communication from the devs, especially when launch is a few weeks away. (during the entire development process)
I posted a few months ago to a few folks that their was updates (on the Steam page) for the game from the devs, which is no excuse for not posting here once a month (or two) to let backers know what's going on, if nothing else copy and paste progress posted on steam (or as I mentioned, I think) post the steam discussion link so people could follow it.
I know they'll come through, but the lack of communication has been a black eye for this campaign all of these years, I'll be glad when it's over and done, my DVD is in my hands and it's another long in the tooth KS I can cross off my list as done and dusted.
@Hemi - Are you sure about that, just watched both trailers and Road Rage looked like ***. It has some good ideas (open world, drive anywhere, cause havoc) but the gameplay looked like crap, the bike handling was less than impressive among other things.
Then I watched the trailer for Road Redemption which looked a lot more impressive, faster gameplay, more varied combat (no slo-mo chain cam like Road Rage) even though it's taken an extremely long time, I think Dark Sea did a much better job with what they had a look to have a game that they can be proud of.
The other one looks to be a cheap cash-in. Maximum games is publishing it for crying out loud (that should tell you something at least) and I couldn't even find any information on the developers.
They're both pleasant to look at, a bit underwhelming in the sound dept. and the choice of music for both was bland to be kind, but if you looked carefully enough you can tell which had care put into it and which was just a quick cash in to take away from Road Redemption and the Road Rash legacy.
A shame that Road Redemption will have a competition right when they're ready to release from a knock off game no less.
In any regards, hopefully in the next few weeks we'll start hearing a bit more about rewards, PHYSICAL release (I'm backing at that level too), and console versions (eventually). It took awhile, but it's finally coming to an end (of development).
