About this project
In Banishment, one player takes on the role of an accursed Demon, and the rest are Exorcists trying to banish them. This is a fast, highly interactive card game involving strategic thinking and eternal damnation.
Banishment has been fully prototyped and tested and is ready for production. Take a look at the prototypes below.
Each basic copy of the game includes 72 cards, instructions, and a custom deck box.
How to play
Banishment is uncannily quick to learn, but offers you tactical choices at every stage. Each game lasts about 15-20 minutes.
Gather 2-5 players. There are three decks: Ritual, Demon and Exorcist.
At the beginning of the game, Rituals are pulled from the Ritual deck equal to the total number of players plus one. These have requirements written on them. When the Exorcists meet the requirements of a Ritual, it is resolved. When all are resolved, the Demon is cast back into the darkness from whence it came and the Exorcists win.
At the beginning of each of the Demon's turns, they increase their Demon Dice by one. The Demon has an arsenal of powerful cards they can play to disrupt the Exorcists' attempts at banishment. If their dice reaches 10, they break into our reality, drag the Exorcists' souls screaming down into hell... and win the game.
Exorcists are less powerful than the Demon and must work together to complete the Rituals. They will need to choose between using their cards as components to complete the Rituals directly or using the abilities on their cards to protect themselves against the Demon and buy more time.
Long after the game is over and players have returned to their ordinary lives, the secret rituals imbued within the cards will activate and - ah, we've said too much.

The dread coven
We are a newly spawned cabal of designers of indie tabletop offerings. We have crawled from the shadows that birthed us and now the world will know our dread secrets. Also, we make games.
Kim long ago fell victim to the infernal geometries of digital design and schemecraft. She studied her dark arts from the grimoires of arcane universities for the better part of a decade. She emerged from their blackened halls only to use this forbidden knowledge to produce various other perilous games including a previously successful Kickstarter RPG, Dream of the Djinn.
Jonathan has always had a passion for the unholy craft of game design. With a unsettling knack for twisting words and their meanings to his will, he has written many black tomes too terrible for the world to behold. No game he has ever played has long remained untouched by his meddling, and now the time is ripe for the world to feel the corruption of his vile creations.
Risks and challenges
Ancient and unknowable powers are watching our progress and our souls are forfeit should we not deliver upon our dark promises.
Our game will be simple to produce and ship - the costs are straightforward and only become cheaper in bulk. We do not have needlessly complicated tiers of extras like T-shirts or miniatures to hinder the production process. Our focus will be on delivering a quality product to you on time.
Kim has successfully Kickstarted a previous game, Dream of the Djinn, which was completed and delivered on time, so our track record is reliable. We have also made certain... pacts... to ensure expedient results.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
