About this project
Delvers Lost in the Dungeons of Doom!
Here's an adventuring party ready for your next dungeon crawl! Heroic scale fantasy miniatures, sculpted by hand and cast in metal, for your roleplaying and tabletop games. I have enjoyed making these miniatures and I would love to share them with you!
The funding goal will pay for the moulding and casting of at least 9 (Now 17!) new miniatures. Legendary Hero pledge backers will unlock more. Visit Star Hat Miniatures on Facebook for further information. The current total is 17 miniatures!

The final 3 days of this Kickstarter campaign and I couldn't be happier with the response. Almost 200% funded! Thanks to everyone backing Delvers Lost in the Dungeons of Doom! A special thanks to Rom, Grant and Lewis for encouraging me from the beginning. Here are a couple of miniatures as a gift to all pledge backers (except Torchbearer) with my heartfelt gratitude.
So far all the Amazon, Barbarian, Burglar, Cleric, Dwarf, Knight, Ninja, Ranger and Wizard miniatures are sculpted and ready for production. However, there are costs that come from creating silicon moulds and casting in metal. This Kickstarter will help get these miniatures into your hands and on your gaming table. Your pledge can make this possible!
You can choose a single miniature (Solo Adventurer), three miniatures (Heroes Quest), or receive one of each (Dragon Slayers) all in shiny metal. The Dungeon Master pledge gives you the whole set (The current total is 17 miniatures!) from this Kickstarter campaign painted with a high quality finish.
As a Legendary Hero backer you change the campaign. This pledge gives you all the unlocked miniatures and a custom miniature, sculpted to resemble your own player character. Sculpting requires communication between the backer (you) and sculptor (me) to create your Legendary Hero miniature. It also means that the new Legendary Hero miniature is available for other backers.
For the Dungeon Master pledge backers, miniatures will be painted. Click the images below for examples of my painting style. These are classic Citadel miniatures from my own collection and are not part of the Delvers Lost in the Dungeons of Doom!
'Heroic scale' means that certain features, most notably heads and weapons, are not scale with the body. This helps them stand out on the gaming table where a true to scale miniature would have a pin-sized head and stick sword by comparison. The miniatures in this Kickstarter stand a head taller than most of my old Grenadier (25mm) and Citadel (28mm) miniatures but are similar in size to the Reaper (30mm to 35mm) miniatures that are popular in fantasy gaming today. Having said that, the Dwarf Lord is massive!
These highly detailed miniatures are sculpted with an integrated (20mm) base. They can stand alone or you can glue them to a standard plastic 25mm slotta base or 30mm round-lipped base, to suit your gaming requirements.
Risks and challenges
This is my first Kickstarter project and the responsibility for completion rests firmly upon my shoulders.
The challenges for this project include producing the miniatures and sending them to backers around the world. The three main risk factors are Cost, Quality and Time. Backers will receive progress updates during the campaign.
If the funding goal is not reached the project will not go ahead.
Metal miniature production requires professional expertise. To make certain this process runs smoothly I am employing the services of Regal Enterprises (http://regaltoysoldiers.com) in Greytown (NZ). Allan and Ian Farley have over 25 years experience running a successful business exporting toy soldiers the world over.
Because quality metal miniatures take time to produce and Regal Enterprises have a steady line of work, I have been informed a two month turnaround is to be expected and have allowed for this. I estimate shipping out the miniatures within 3 months of funding this Kickstarter campaign.
For some of you, New Zealand may be a small country at the far ends of the earth (I live a stone's throw from Hobbiton). However, our creative industries and postal service are excellent.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
