One of my life goals, from the blog, is to write a book. Well, here it is. I'm aiming to take the material I produced while traveling the world (everything from weoverhear.com/christopher) and to wrap it all into a book. That said, it doesn't seem to make much sense to me to just reformat everything from digital to print, without offering a little bit of the back story about why I ended up on the road, and some of the antics that put me in the mindset to write and draw the things I did. So, the idea for the book is to string the blog posts onto the story-thread of the trip itself, something I haven't really written much at all about. Also, some of the drawings from the blog bother me, so, there's a chance I might whip up a replacement drawing or two.
Risks and challenges
The biggest risk is that I'll break my neck skiing in Colorado this winter and not be able to finish the project. Barring that, I think the lion's share of the work is done, now it's just a matter of formatting the images for print, laying out the pages, and weaving the untold story of my trip into it all. I've never done any of these things before, so I guess that's another risk, that I could run into unforetold problems and get behind schedule. That said, I seem to enjoy doing things under the wire, and all the more if I've never done them before. I did, after all, sneak into Versailles. I think I can manage this little old book.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
