Pen Tests, The Pen Addict, and a New Tier

Hey folks!

We can’t believe we just yesterday crossed $80,000, 400% funded. Amazing! We have a quick update, just to point out a few things.

A few people have had questions about how certain types of pens (usually fountain pens) perform on the paper in Panobook. Our friend Myke Hurley, resident pen expert, was kind enough to do some tests on his prototype of the Panobook.

In choosing the paper, we wanted something versatile that could handle pretty much anything you threw at it. Pens with super heavy ink flow will show through on the reverse side of the page, but none of these bled all the way through to the next page.

Speaking of Myke, he and pen nerd extraordinaire Brad Dowdy chatted about Panobook on the most recent episode of The Pen Addict (Panobook discussion starts at 33:06). This is great to listen to if you are curious to hear the thoughts of two super picky pen and stationary guys who have been using Panobook for the past couple months.

Additionally, some folks have been asking about how to pledge for even more notebooks. We went ahead and added a tier for 12 notebooks. If you want to change your pledge, hit the green “Manage your pledge” button at the top of the Panobook project page. Once the campaign ends and we send out surveys to collect everyone’s addresses for shipment, there will be an opportunity to add on more notebooks at that point, as well.

Lastly, we wanted to give a shout out to a few of our friends that happen to be running active Kickstarter campaigns that are very directly related to Panobook. Gather is a minimal desk organizer from our friend Jeff; it looks very useful as well as being quite handsome. And of course, our good friends Che-Wei and Taylor have launched an updated, titanium version of their Pen Type B. Such synergy!

Until next time,
Tom & Dan

I came to look for Pilot G2 which is a pretty plain pen as pens go. What the heck is a Zebra Sarasa?

The ink test was interesting but you left out one of the favorite pens used for bullet journaling, the Pilot Frixion series. Please do a test of both the writing and erasing capabilities of this pen on our paper.

No Pilot Precise V5? The world is more pen-excellence deprived than I realized.

I'm fully convinced this will be my new Moleskine. It solves every notebook issue I've ever had with any notebook I've ever bought. Plus it's from you guys, which is an automatic plus 'cause I love y'all and the Glif (both the original and the new one).
