After finishing up on the VFX for Cloud Atlas, Seven Psychopaths and The Last Stand, some of the staff at Method Studios in London are putting their heads together to produce their own short film.
Written and Directed by Jesus Diez & Dan Matley.
The story is about Jack, once world famous for winning the national lottery twice! The odds of which are 195,547,109,921,856 to 1. Five years later, Jack is now a down and out loser who pays for companionship. He reveals his paranormal secret of success to a female escort, inviting her into a dreamland which unveils truths he doesn’t have the confidence to face in reality.
Between us we are producing the whole film from concept through to post-production. We can edit, grade and create fantastic VFX. The only thing we need to finance are the actors, locations, travel and food. We don’t believe in actors working hard for nothing, it’s a profession which deserves to be funded. In this regard we would like to support the unions (Equity, etc) who believe the very same.
We are shooting throughout November, aiming to have a finished movie by Christmas or at latest January 2013.

Risks and challenges
We've scheduled ourselves an ambitious target to begin the festival submission process in the New Year. As a result we've had no option but to start shoot before we've even secured the funding!
We held auditions on Saturday 27th October, then announced our cast the next day. However without financial support we aren't able to pay our actors. Our kind cast are happy to provide their acting services for free, however we still believe they deserve to be paid and that's where the majority of the Kickstarter fund will be going.
Our biggest challenge is shooting a scene which takes place in 1950s London. It'll be entirely shot against a green screen, and 90% of the image will be added in post-production. With so little time to accomplish before our end of year deadline, this is complex even for us! So VFX will begin mid-November.
There is a chance our schedule will over run, but if it does it'll only be about a month so Kickstarter pledgers can expect their rewards by Jan/Feb at the latest!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
