PROJECT UPDATE: We reached our goal of $6,000 in one day and are over 200% funded at $12K, with a few days left! I'm very thankful for your support and I can't wait to release the new album in September!
IS THIS ALBUM COOL OR WHAT?
It's way cool. Over the last seven years, I've had amazing support from a fan base raised mostly on the internet and in my home state of Colorado. It's all been going very well, but I wanted something different this time around. I wanted a change of scene, a newer sound. I wanted to try working and collaborating with women. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, trust other creative minds and face some of my fears.
So I did.
WHAT'D YOU DO DIFFERENT?
I packed up and drove from Colorado to Norfolk, Virginia. I lived and worked in a new place, felt different air, and worked with new people who did an amazing job making my songs come alive. I said yes. I said let's try that. I said that's a great idea! I worked side by side with and trusted two amazing women to engineer and produce these songs.Together we all spent many hours, working, singing, playing, trying, creating, talking, laughing, eating, crying, and making this beautiful record, The Terrible Dinner Guest.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE UNIVERSE?
I like to think the Universe rewards us for trying something new, being brave, taking chances and giving the stuff we're afraid or find difficult, a shot. The Terrible Dinner Guest is that sort of reward for me. I like it a lot, I'm proud that I did something new and I hope you like it too.
WHERE DID THIS HAPPEN?
Recorded in Norfolk, VA, at TAPTAP Recordings and Clay Garden Studios, The Terrible Dinner Guest was engineered by Jacki Paolella and co-produced by Skye Zentz. It is Danielle Ate the Sandwich's 6th full length album.
Below are some of the amazing people involved with the project:
Danielle Anderson: Vocals, Ukulele, Guitar, Keys, Rhodes
Skye Zentz: Vocals, Glockenspiel, Keys
Ian Randall Thornton: Upright Bass, Vocals
Jacki Paolella: Electric Bass
John DiGiorgio: Drums
Zach Jones: Electric Guitar
HOW CAN I HELP?
Support the new album by choosing one of the rewards to the right! The Kickstarter is kind of like a preorder with some added incentives for you and a little extra moolah for me! Each item will be carefully packed and shipped by Danielle! She is an independent musician fueled by her creative desire and your amazing support! Most rewards will ship the first week of September 2016, unless otherwise noted!
WHAT ELSE DO YOU HAVE GOING ON, DANIELLE?
Along with the new album releasing in September 2016, I plan to put out a brand new music video for the title track, "The Terrible Dinner Guest," filmed in Los Angeles by Cooper James and Synthetic Picturehaus. I am also planning an EAST COAST tour in September in support of the new release. I'm going to be, like, the busiest.
As always catch me on Facebook or my website to make sure you're up to date with all my business!

Risks and challenges
This album was a step forward artistically and professionally. I tried to say yes and be open to a lot of things that I believed would make the album great, even if it cost more money. I also wanted the hardworking musicians and producers to be paid what they deserved. The budget I had in mind changed as the project evolved, but I was able to pay for most of the studio time with my own savings (and a loan from my mom-Thanks, mom!) Now, I'm raising funds via Kickstarter to pay for the final steps of the recording process in order to release the album by September 2016!
My Kickstarter goal is lower than what it cost to make the Terrible Dinner Guest. I want to feel good about your generous pledges, rather then set a higher goal and stress about making back the entire cost of the project. I am very grateful for anything you can give to me and my music. If it's enough to make this Kickstarter goal and pay for the remaining costs, or if we go above and beyond to fund the whole record, it's a true honor to have your support!
