So we've spent the past three months or so getting ourselves going. We've added a few members (3 trombones?!), recruited a few hired guns (JT from ASOB?!), played a few shows at Toad's and Cafe 9 (PISTOL WAVIN NEW HAVEN?!), and we've been putting the finishing touches on four tracks we recorded with Greg DiCrosta at Dexter's Lab in Milford, CT. We've all been in various bands over the years, but none of us has ever put out an album on vinyl.
That's where you come in.
We're not looking to make a profit off this - hell, we'd be happy to break even. As it stands right now, we've dumped a good amount of money into the mixing and recording, but we simply don't have the funds to be able to put this out. It's the first record for any band all of us have been in that we're truly 100% proud of, and we want to be able to give it the kind of treatment we think it deserves. Plus, as we keep going forward and trying to perform more and get our name out there, we really want to have an avenue for physical distribution beyond the internets.
We want to keep costs low, so we're doing everything but the actual record pressing ourselves. We want to do this to make sure we can offer this bad boy pretty much at cost (around 5$ shipped) to anyone who donates. We want to make it interesting for anyone who donates more, so we've got some great rewards set up. If you have any ideas for things you'd want to see as rewards before you donate, hit us up at our Facebook page. If you want to come see us at a show and say
"HEY, STEADY HABITS, WHY SHOULD I HELP YOU SLEAZEBAGS?", feel free to check the show listings on that page, come out, and we'll buy you a beer and let mustaches and brass win you over.
Keep posted as we'll probably be putting a video up soon, and we'll make sure to get some links to the recordings as they get finished. Thanks, all.
