A "PEACE" of History
The iconic Peace Symbol was created by Gerald Holtom in 1958 and originally used by the Direct Action Committee Against Nuclear War (DAC). Human history is filled with military action and social turbulence, but all forms of violence and warfare pale in comparison to the prospect of Nuclear Annihilation. Holtom felt that the alternative to mutually assured destruction (MAD) was Nuclear Disarmament (ND). The symbol itself is a combination of the naval semaphoric symbols for "N" and "D" standing for Nuclear Disarmament. The semaphore system is used for conveying information at a distance by means of visual signals with hand-held flags, rods, disks, paddles, or occasionally bare or gloved hands.
Shortly after its creation, it was adopted as the international symbol of the 1960's anti-war movement and remains a timeless sign, and a sign of the times; one of the most widely known icons in the world.
Sadly, there or over 15,000 nuclear bombs existing today in 9 different countries and nuclear war is again in the news. Times are scary with ready and able technologies and tensions at a frenzy.
Say and share your Peace with this organic, unique, wood specie necklace. Let this piece bring Peace to you while offering it to others. Each 'peace of history' is meticulously, lovingly hand-crafted in Atlanta, GA, by me | for you | by hand. Let me craft one for you!
I would be remiss in not giving a shout out to some good people; without their help and support this endeavor could not have come to fruition!
This project came together quickly from concept to completion, suffering major technical failures and tight deadlines and turn arounds. What started as a conversation turned into a pact to create our Kickstarter Make 100. I am glad to have taken on the challenge!
My heartfelt thanks to the following folks for being awesome:

Risks and challenges
While this is our first Kickstarter project we have been fabricating this hardware style line of jewelry since 2004. Our wood and hardware suppliers are professional and reliable and we do not see any issues with materials or hardware. Short of any problems with the laser engraving each order should be delivered as expected!
We will keep open lines of communication with our backers with updates or setbacks as encountered. As a small business owner I have operated my studio, in the same location for 13 years, with integrity and honesty.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
