About this project
This is Dalia here and this is my open invitation to get you on board for my upcoming project Sunchild. We do believe in this project, artistically, and socially speaking. It has a strong message to say regarding Violence, Autism and the need for change.
I am reaching out to the Kickstarter nation, in a serious attempt to gather the funding needed to produce this film. Your support and encouragement are very important to us, but this is the time for action. If we don't reach our target in the time frame given to us, we get nothing at all. That's why we need your help :-) !
This project is unique. It has a dual nationality, it's both Egyptian and American. It's shot in LA by an Egyptian Director. With an American Cast and an international Crew.
Meet Jacob Hopkins, our lead actor. He'll be playing the role of Adam! ♥ Jacob Hopkins is a very talented young actor, he's been on TV shows like "True Blood" and "How i met your mother".
We are thrilled to have you on board Jacob!

Jason Daks is also our Producer as well as 1st AD.
The film takes a look into the life of an autistic child, Adam and his single mother Miranda, and shows what can happen when a certain protest in Tahrir Square rocks the world of a young autistic boy who cannot express what he has just seen on TV. Can the Egyptian revolution and what it stands for, extend to the rest of the world? Can it inspire change? Most importantly and this is what my film talks about, Can it affect your personal life, in the privacy of your own home? Can this wind of change touch the face of your son, daughter or loved one?
The story takes place in Los Angeles, California. Adam is rather a unique character and because of his autism he reacts to incidents and situations in life differently than we do. Now, I refuse to look at his character and the way Adam acts and identify it as a disorder. He is what he is. The point of the film is to show you that Autism is not a malfunction, it's a different path. Adam finds his "Truth" in his own special away and this "Truth" will shine on wether we understand it or not. A normal person might not understand what he's set out to do, or the reason for his behaviors. The film puts a magnifying glass on Adam's character, the daily situations he and his mother face, their special relationship and how they see the world.
The Ending of the film is both gratifying and inspiring. It proves that every person matters. It proves that you can change and be changed for the best, by random even distant people on the other side of the world. It sends a message of unity and breaks the illusion of isolation.

We need your help!
If we don't gather the whole $5,000 we get nothing, and all your contributions will go back to you. This is an All or Nothing situation. That's why it's very important to Spread the word, and Donate with whatever you can.
We only have 30 days to raise the money or else we cannot shoot. If we do not raise enough funding we will not be able the film or will have to drastically change the script to work with the little amount of money that we have right now. We are putting our faith into the Kickstarter community and hope you all can help us tell our story.
But if we do reach our goal, and I hope we do, we will create a magical piece of art and something that can be shown to raise awareness about autism, bullying, the oppression of women, and the Egyptian revolution. The Blue Bra girl will not just remain an event that you heard about in the news or in passing, her story will be given new light and show how people of all backgrounds can be affected by what they see on tv and at the same time teach people about autism, the challenges autistic people and their families face and why we need to be more tolerant of one another and promote change.
Can we Kick-it? YES WE CAN!! With your Help!
Where the money goes?
Making a great film can be quite expensive, especially when you need to collaborate with talented and skilled artists that will be able to create your vision. There are many people we have to inspire to get on board and logistics we need to care of, including talented and amazing crew, equipment rentals, make up, the list goes on. We need your help.
Equipment Rental: High end camera and lenses. Grip and Electric Equipment. Steadycam. Everything needed to achieve the visual look of the film.
Cast and Crew: The cast and crew will be local and they deserve to be compensated for the long hours and tedious work.
Production Design: In order to make our story believable, we have to set it in the right locations, we have to find the right room, the right toys, the right outfits for our Actors (Wardrobe and Make-up). Achieving a unique look means making each location work perfectly for the setting
Permits and Locations: We need to rent a house for the whole duration of production and we need to permit all our external locations, and these cost a lot of money.
Sunchild's Official Soundtrack
We have very talented musicians onboard that will participate in Sunchild's Soundtrack.
Risks and challenges
There is always the chance that the film production could get delayed for many reasons; weather, Actors not being able to make it to set, sickness or emergencies to Key cast and crew, Equipment failure, Location fall backs, these things could always happen. We will be ready with replacements for talent and/or crew in case of sickness or a scheduling conflict.
We will pull our best efforts not to let any hurdles stop the production. It's our baby. And with a devoted team like ours and lots of hard work, hopefully it will be smooth sailing.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
