I created the CycleBoard because I was looking for a better way for my family and I to travel and go on outings in our local area. I wanted something that was safe and fun, but also something that inspired togetherness. My wife and I have 3 kids and we all love riding. CycleBoarding has already become a household name and activity in our family, and I hope that it will in yours too!

CycleBoard was founded and created by Phil LaBonty. Based out of Newport Beach, California, CycleBoard is comprised of a team of entrepreneurs, engineers and designers, creating 3-wheeled electric devices that transform the way people travel in their local environments. CycleBoard is a remarkably intuitive, lean-to-steer electric vehicle that goes up to 20 mph and is incredibly safe and fun. CycleBoard is the first product in our line-up with more to follow.

We have been self-funding the development of CycleBoard up until this point. Our team comes with extensive experience in product design, engineering and manufacturing. How fast is the CycleBoard and how far will it go?
The CycleBoard can reach speeds of 20mph and travel a distance of 15-20 miles on average terrain with average size riders. Hilly terrain and heavier riders will decrease the range.
Is the CycleBoard easy to ride?
It’s remarkably easy to ride! There is virtually no learning curve and nearly anyone can ride it. It is one of the most stable platforms and steering designs of any stand-up electric vehicle in the world.
Can I ride my CycleBoard like a kick scooter?
Yes, absolutely. The CycleBoard free wheels very well so you are covered if you want to mix in some exercise or if you run out of battery.
What are the battery and charger specifications?
Each CycleBoard comes equipped with a 48v 10ah battery pack and a standard 2 amp charger with an approximate recharge time of 3-5 hours, or you can upgrade to a 3 amp charger with an approximate recharge time of 2-3 hours.
How are your batteries designed?
We are using custom-built Lithium Ion battery packs designed using only Tier 1 battery cells from Japan.
Can I take the battery out of the scooter?
The battery is protected inside the sealed aluminum chassis underneath the riding deck. It’s not meant to be removed unless the battery needs to be replaced. The battery charger is plugged into a port on the side of the chassis underneath the riding deck to charge your battery.
Can I buy an extra charger or battery?
Yes, we will provide replacement parts for your CycleBoard. An additional battery would only be needed if the original battery needed to be replaced, as they are not meant to be swapped out. However, we will make them available later on just in case. In terms of chargers, you’ll be able to purchase as many standard (2 amp) or upgraded (3 amp) chargers as you like.
How does the battery work?
To recharge your CycleBoard’s battery, simply plug it into any standard outlet.
What is the maximum weight limit?
The maximum recommended weight limit is 250 lbs.
How high can I extend the handlebars?
The handlebars will extend to 46 inches, which will comfortably accommodate a rider as tall as 6’6”.
How do I swap the deck out?
Just unscrew the deck screws with an alan wrench, replace the deck with the new one, and screw the deck screws back in. (5 min)
What happens if my CycleBoard stops working?
We provide an owner’s manual with every purchase describing all details of the CycleBoard along with troubleshooting practices. There are 6 major mechanical and electronic components: throttle, hand brake lever, brake caliper, controller, battery and motor. All parts are easy to replace and we will send out replacement parts when necessary.
How do I turn it on and off?
Turning on your CycleBoard is as simple as pushing a button. Just push the on/off button on the throttle.
Do I need a special license to operate CycleBoard?
Each country, state and city has its own laws and restrictions. We strongly advise the use of safety equipment, such as helmets. Please review your local motor vehicle rules and laws.
How much does the full scooter weigh?
Each CycleBoard weighs approximately 42 lbs.
Is there a warranty?
We offer a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty for any design defects and on all parts.
Is the CycleBoard waterproof?
The rear hub motor is completely sealed and nearly waterproof, although we don’t suggest submerging the entire motor in water or riding through large puddles. The battery compartment is completely contained and sealed within the aluminum chassis body and is water resistant. However, please keep in mind that the CycleBoard is an electronic device.
What if I want to clean my CycleBoard?
The CycleBoard is treated using industry leading powder coating technology and you can simply wipe it down with a wet cloth.
Does the CycleBoard come in different colors?
We are currently only offering the CycleBoard in black as of right now, but we may offer more colors in the near future.
Does the CycleBoard have a line of accessories?
In addition to the accessories listed on our Kickstarter page, we plan to offer a storage bag, a basket and off-road tires very soon.
How will you know where to ship my CycleBoard?
We will collect all shipping addresses after the campaign ends. After we've collected your shipping address, we will calculate and add shipping costs at that time. All backers are responsible for any state or country specific duties, taxes and other fees.

Risques et défis
Delivering the highest quality product to our backers on time is our #1 priority. Moving from prototype to full production can occasionally present unexpected delays so we have factored in a buffer for this possibility. Our engineering and manufacturing team are experts and have been designing and producing a variety of products in their factory over the past 12 years. All tooling, fabrication, assembly and packaging will take place in this facility providing us with an incredible level of oversight and Quality Control. We have preliminary agreements with parts suppliers with back up suppliers also so hopefully we won’t have any major surprises. We will of course keep you informed every step of the way and look forward to delivering the most awesome stand up electric vehicles you have ever ridden!
