Thanks for your patience. It may be frozen outside, but Obduction design and development have been heating up inside!

PayPal funding keeps coming in, and we're actually getting closer to the next stretch goal. Here's where we're at: Kickstarter - $1,275,299.31, PayPal - $80,189.67, for a grand total (so far) of $1,355,488.98.

We're getting tantalizingly closer to that second stretch goal of 1.7 Million, and we still have 18 days left to make it happen. Like many of you, we're still hoping to make it a reality. Just to remind you, in the next stretch goal we expand the content from hub plus three worlds - to hub plus four! A whole new world to explore! And just as interesting, we also add Roadtrip Mode! For more information on the stretch goal, please check out our FAQ. We can do it, but only with your help.

Obduction Backer Forums

If you're a backer who wants access to the Backer forums, you'll need to have a Forum account - using the same email address that you used to support us on Kickstarter or PayPal. If you've done that, then you'll be ready to go when we "hit the switch." If you have any questions or issues you need addressed, please submit a ticket on our support site

Survey

We've been working diligently on the Kickstarter survey. If you're a Kickstarter backer, a survey will be coming around the beginning of March. Since we can only send one survey through Kickstarter, we are checking and re-checking to make sure we don't miss anything.

For PayPal backers - if we need more info to fulfill your tier level, we will be getting in touch with you as well.

Obduction Work

Design & development work continues at a good pace. We'll have some more specific updates for you coming soon.

I'm still wondering if that's a stuffed or live kitten/cat on Karl's desk.

    2. Creator Ryan Warzecha (Cyantist) on February 13, 2014

      @Nathan- Yes on the box
      @Jesper - What @Manoel said
@Paul - Check out the kickstarter video you can see me walking on the drawbridge.

    3. Creator Ryan Warzecha (Cyantist) on February 13, 2014

@Pavitra We plan to do this. You can also submit a ticket to support.cyan.com and I will manually make sure you can see the backers forum.

    4. Creator Pavitra on February 12, 2014

Rather than requiring that forum and Kickstarter accounts use the same email address (which seems to be disgruntling some forumites), perhaps the survey could include a question "what is your forum username"?

    5. Creator David Boucher on February 11, 2014

      It's alive! It's alive!

    6. Creator Manoel Trapier on February 11, 2014

No it's just because wearing Red/Blue glasses looks cool!

    7. Creator Jesper Spierenburg on February 11, 2014

What are that red/blue glasses doing on Karl's pc? Obduction going 3D?

    8. Creator Paul Zagieboylo on February 10, 2014

What is up with the front of that building, anyway? It looks like a big chunk of the façade has slid forward on, like, tracks or something, to reveal some inner secrets of the building. Have you guys been spending your time turning your office building into a real-life Myst? (If so.... that's awesome.)

    9. Creator Daniel Goetz on February 10, 2014

Rand actually wears a white shirt? Thought he was straight flannel shirt type guy. Loos nice. Is there a tie hiding on the other side?

    10. Creator Nathan Camp on February 10, 2014

@Ryan Warzecha (Cyantist) Awesome thank you, another question if I may.

The Boxed copy at $75 is a Kickstarter exclusive, if I upgrade to that tier using PayPal would I get a PayPal version or the Kickstarter version or is there no difference?

      I don't mind either way, I'm just curious : )

      Looking forward to more updates!

It's always a little jarring to see ya'll working at desks...In my mind, you're terraforming magical worlds with a combination of science, magic, and - of course - the Art.

      But hey, whatever it takes!

    12. Creator Melissa Sonoda on February 10, 2014

I soo badly want a peek at that top secret design work. D:

    13. Creator Ryan Warzecha (Cyantist) on February 10, 2014

@Nathan - Yes. We will send out Surveys and receipts later this month.

    14. Creator Helena on February 10, 2014

Looking forward to hearing more about the game!

    15. Creator Nathan Camp on February 10, 2014

      Are PayPal and Kickstarter linked?

For example if I pledged $45 on Kickstarter but I would like to up my pledge to a boxed copy, can I donate the difference via PayPal?

    16. Creator Deborah Terreson on February 10, 2014

Roadtrip Mode! (..be still my beating heart!)

If this is like the flymode that comes with the Drizzle package for the offline Uru.. count me in!

My Desktop to this day - on ALL my computers - has various screenshots I've taken of the Ages and some when snapped from off the playing field, so to speak, are spectacular. (Some can be found in my online player's journal "Advetnutres in Exile" on the mystcommunity board.)

It's the attention to detail that takes my breath away, so hopefully will be able to do likewise with this roadtrip and get some lovely, lovely captures of the view!

Very happy indeed to hear this, if it is what I think it will be.

      Regards,

      Deb.

    17. Creator Tradley Sasser on February 10, 2014

Oh oh oh! I want you guys to reach the next goal SO BAD!!!

    18. Creator Logan Smith on February 10, 2014

Tell your friends! Only 23 days left to make the $1.7 million stretch goal! That is completely doable if we help them get enough attention. Spread this EVERWHERE - Facebook, Twitter, reddit, Google+, Tumblr, etc. We have less than $345,000 to go! We did that for the Oculus stretch goal no sweat, we can do it again!

    19. Creator Gary Coughlin on February 10, 2014

      Also "Cyantist" is brilliant!

    20. Creator Gary Coughlin on February 10, 2014

When the Kickstarter ran I didn't have money. I was upset but I got in at $1 just to keep up on the updates. However now that has changed and yesterday I got the boxed edition on Paypal. I really want this Roadtrip mode to happen. I don't know if I have the means to go back to my Aunt's house and play together like the good old days :)

    21. Creator Nila Mu'Hari on February 10, 2014

awesome - now hit the switch! ;) and best congratulations, ryan! ours will arrive in august, too, probably after a long long journey through the stars! :)

    22. Creator Ryan Warzecha (Cyantist) on February 10, 2014

@Rae The design team is have a great time, we can't wait to play the game.

    23. Creator Ryan Warzecha (Cyantist) on February 10, 2014

Patrick, we hope to do an update a week. Some of the information that will be submitted to the backers forum will be repeated in the updates.

    24. Creator Rae Warfel on February 10, 2014

I can hardly wait for the game to come out! If it is anything like the last ones, enjoyment will follow.

    25. Creator Patrick Karjala on February 10, 2014

Good to hear things are trucking along! What kind of update frequency should we expect from here out (so that folks aren't sitting on the edge of their seats in anticipation)?

    26. Creator Draco18s on February 10, 2014

Woo! Nice shot of the front of the building. That is a very interesting architectural feature. :D
      Thanks for sharing!
