Thanks for the funding! What a journey - and it's just beginning!
As soon as I heard about this, I shelled out the cash. Not a second thought. Doesn't matter that I'm a broke grad student. I love, love, love all the Myst-series games. Nothing like them. They transport me to alien worlds in a way no other games have. I don't like point-and-shoot games, at all, and I've missed that feeling of immersion that only comes with Cyan games. Just this year I purchased and re-played many of those games again (although I don't recommend it, if you're writing a dissertation). Keep up the great work, guys. Can't wait.
Cyan will send out a KickStarter survey sometime before they ship to confirm your address. I suspect they get that address information from Amazon Payments.I do not see that information in my KickStarter account settings or profile.
I just moved. Where do i update my adress so you send to the right adress when its all done?
@Gary Hinton - yes it does. This (long) thread on the Cyan forums http://forums.cyan.com/viewtopic.php… shows how this was discovered but it's all rather diffuse!. There's also a wiki which has been capturing each breakthrough on the ARG. http://wiki.openuru.org/index.php…
Please update us on post-kickstarter funds! I would love to see if the stretch goals are met.
Good find Mac_Fife! I wonder if it has anything to do with Karl Hunrath who was supposedly abducted by aliens back in 1953. http://mysteriousuniverse.org/2012/04/kidnapped-by-a-flying-saucer/
yes it is wished i have helped this way on riven but back then i did not know that games made on a pc. but cyan games changed my life for over 7 yrs i been trying to make a game just to be able to do it b4 i die . but i can not program the save game ui in directer i need to know if this can be done b4 i pay for the real full copy could be the demo trial dont have this. bet the riven game engian would make what i want to do easyer if they liscence it
Fantastic!!! I'm glad I'm able to be a part of it!
@Tiago, that would be great, haha! Congratulations everyone! Wow. Such Amaze.
Will Ryan be one of the obducted NPCs we'll find??? Will we find him roaming around an alien yet strangely familiar picket fence house, placed in the middle of what's clearly not it's place, after 2 years???
@William Or just use virtual machines. Less hassle to maintain and more portable. I have all of Cyan's past games working fine in a Windows VM via Steam.
I'm just trying to think of ways for Cyan to raise more investments by doing deals on their existing software. Maybe a free full version of Myst for iDevice for another $25? Also if the graphics can handle it and not too much work is required a Backers Collectors edition of Myst could be distributed that enabled AIRPLAY or equivalents through to the TV (i.e. via Apple TV etc - not just the sound).
Which is why everyone should have a retro gaming system. For me, it's a 1GHz PIII Windows 98 machine, with a Voodoo5 card and a Gateway Destination 36" monitor. Great for those favorite early Windows games, which I still like to play on occasion.
Ooops, its only the sound:( ANYWAY… ROLL ON 2015!!
@ Ian: You can get Steam/GOG downloads of Myst Masterpiece; Riven; V; realMyst; and URU, but it is true that some of them don't work too well on modern systems, even if playable. You *can* get them, though.
Incidentally, AFAIK you can't get the old games for latest Mac/PC's. The only thing I worked out is that downloading the apps for iPhone/Pad is great to AIRPLAY on huge screen… just about to try it...
Hey, can't wait for this! I could only donate $25 as on zero income but wish I could do more… maybe I could do another $25 if I got Myst and/or Riven downloads:) Don't forget Mac support - NOT happy playing games in Parallels/Windows.
Congrats with the success of the Kickstarter campaign. Looking forward to see uppdates on the development. And I'm so glad to see you doing Oculus support. It will without a doubt be a spectacular game.

"Welcome to Hunrath"
What does Rand say at the end?
Awesome that the Oculus Rift support made it in!
And as we know . . . the ending has not yet been written.
Un grand bravo !
Man isn't the game done yet? This is taking forever! :-p
Great job, looking forward to playing the game!
Good job folks. Looking forward to the game.
Congrats on the localisation and the Oculus Rift!
Wonderful VID, Sweet!
Ryan W, Rand, all Cyantists. Hope you get some well deserved rest. I know you all have been working on this for some time, already. Still, get Obducting! :)
It's been my experience that the journey to the game is almost as good as getting the game itself. :)
and now we get to pace and wait till these plans come to fruition *sigh* I hate being trapped waiting in a book *smirk*
Congratulations on making it through a (successful) kickstarter! I hope you get (a rested and refreshed) Ryan back soon!
Congratulations! I can't wait to see what kind of out-of-the-box kind of critical thinking moments I get from the next incarnation of Cyan's collective mind. You guys are the best!
Uh oh, Ryan has been obducted :o
Congratulations again to Cyan, and thank you to the fellow backers and donators!
I look forward to news, and of course to the game!
Oh man, that was an awesome film effect guys. XD Also Ooooooo sneakies. Honra huh? *chinrub*
thanks for all the hard work, Ryan, hope you get a good rest - did Rand say on Hunrath?
Congratulations! I enjoyed the ride. Can't wait for the next one.
Congrats.. my Rift is waiting :)
See you there, Ryan! Take care, buddy and write us a postcard!
I am going to spend the next year with my hands over my ears and my eyes shut! So glad you got funded!
This may be the best $45 I've spent in awhile. Look forward to the periodic updates and of course the game.
Damn, 2015, I'll be 64 years young then. Better hurry the development.
Congratulations! The Obduction has begun... :)
Congrats...... But I want it meow!
Heh, loved the video! Congratulations on a fantastic campaign and what will surely be an incredible game. Roll on 2015 :)
When you looked at that tree I thought of that tree elevator from MYST.
Congratulations guys (and everyone else) on a well deserved and amazing campaign from all of us over at Commodore USA (facebook.com/CommodoreUSA), it's great to see you back in business again! Can't wait to see the game when it's ready!
Congratulations! Can't wait. I still love Myst!
Looking forward to a really great game! Glad to support efforts like this.
