Obduction - "Last Day" Schedule of Events!

Hello Obductees!

The Last Day!!! We’re in the final leg of a truly amazing run – and as a thank-you for all that you’ve done during this campaign, you’re cordially invited to join the party from the comfort of your own home, office, school, Age, or world!

Yup, that’s right: there'll be some or all (or one) of us up all night (or for many of our International friends – up all day) until the Kickstarter ends at 6:06am PST. It’s an #ObductionParty! We’re excited to see you at any or all of these events!

All Times PST:

• 5:00pm – 6:00pm: Thank you for “Thank you, Cyan!”

We’re honored that our community has shared their personal stories around our games – we’d love to share some of our favorites with you. Tune in on Twitch TV and use the hashtag #ObductionParty.

• 10:00pm – 11:00pm: Hangout with the Obduction team!

Topic of discussion - What happens next? When will PayPal funding stop? When will we hear more news? Cyan will answer some of these and other burning questions you might have.

• 11:00pm – ???: Chat with RAWA in MYST ONLINE: URU LIVE

Also known as Richard A. Watson, RAWA is our in-house person of questionable sanity. (We're not saying he's blackmailed Rand into keeping him around all these years, but we're not not saying it.) Join him “in the cavern” by downloading MYST ONLINE for free. (It's Windows only, but Rand says it works great on his Mac with Parallels.)

• 2am – 3am: It’s the “Ryan & Lauren Stream Myst Online: Uru Live” Show!

Ryan Warzecha and Lauren Hall-Stigerts have been working hard on getting the word out about Obduction. Now they’re returning to their roots with Myst Online: Uru Live. Join them in-game (download it here) or tune in to the stream.

• 3am – 4:30am: Ryan Warzecha talks with you – one on one!

No, seriously – one on one! Ryan will personally thank you for supporting Obduction - or fall asleep trying! Sign into Skype (download it here) and message cyan_inc. that you’d like to chat. Ryan will call as many of you as possible during these hours.

• 5am – 6am: Countdown Hangout with M and M (Mimosas & Marys)

Rand’s bringing the Mimosas and Ryan’s bringing the Bloody Marys – Party with the Obduction team as we count down the final hours before the Kickstarter campaign's conclusion. Then we’re going to count down the final moments of the Obduction Kickstarter campaign together in style! At 6:06am Rand (and any of the team who can roll out of bed) will wrap things up with a final thanks!

It's working now, but stutters a lot. Is there an audio-only feed?

Twitch.TV says "This channel is private" and asks for a password.

I notice the Twitch channel now says it's protected by a password...

Well, at least I'll be able to catch the last couple of events, since that's early afternoon for me. ;-)

Try this to convert PST to GMT or to times in other zones:

Awesome, will pop on Uru later but it sounds like I'll miss most of the fun, way past my bed time!

Oculus Rift is a fad... Its not going anywhere

I absolutely loved the Myst games. Myst IV is, in my opinion, the absolute pinnacle of 2D graphics use in any game, ever. I hope this tradition will be continued in Obduction with the use of 3D technology. Since the Unreal Engine 4 is so advanced, I have some questions.
      1) Will Obduction use heavy tesselation? I certainly hope this is the case. I've played a lot of games where tesselation really adds to the realism of the experience.
      2) Will there be other high-end DX11-class effects in use?

This is such a cool idea for a countdown!

    17. John Blythe on November 15, 2013

This is great guys. Loved the Myst games. I really like Myst V too.
As for the Occulus Rift support, I think I'd rather have more content in the game than spending money on the Rift, no offence to O.R. people. :-) I'm sure if I had one I'd be arguing for it lol.

Where will RAWA be? While Ae'gura would be the most obvious location, it only holds 50 people as compared to a hood or the Watcher's Pub where it can hold 200 people.

Even if 1.3mil is not reached they should still do at least some of the major localizations.

    20. eXoScoriae on November 15, 2013

2am? lol... sorry, no 2am Myst Online for me.

    21. jorlinn on Linux on November 15, 2013

Oculus support is less vital than the localisation, especially for Spanish and French for it is to sell well in regions with that native language. Luckily you don't have to choose because they are both in the same tier. Still $63k to go...

    22. Eugene on November 15, 2013

      $63K? Let's shoot for $463K! It's party time :)!
