About this project

Build your "wildlife" park! Provide the right habitats for animals, build watchtowers and access roads and supply trekking places.

In this game for 2 to 5 park managers, you expand your park's landscape and add animals, watchtowers, extra entrances and tour spots. Try to construct your park the best for animals and visitors.

(game box fragment) Different game boxes contain different ceramic animals. For example a hare, penguin, monkey, crocodile and squirrel.

(The Spanish rulebook which is not included in the game box.)

Some game components have (English) words on it, but that text isn't needed to play the game.

The Salamander has its habitat: 2 forest tiles. The Kingfisher has its water, the Impala is missing 3 grassland.
The Salamander has its habitat: 2 forest tiles. The Kingfisher has its water, the Impala is missing 3 grassland.

In this small example (picture from the rulebook) you see 3 animal tiles. The Salamander, Kingfisher and Impala.
The victory points are written in yellow (2/2/3 vp).
The needed habitats are shown by the icons above the animal pictures.
The Salamander lives in water (its own tile) and needs 2 forest tiles which is shown by 2 leaf icons on its tile. Those 2 forest tiles must be in 1 or more adjacent areas. An area is 1 tile or a group of equal landscape tiles.
The Salamander has an adjacent forest area of 2 tiles, so its habitat requirements are fulfilled.
The Kingfisher has its needs (water, see drop icon) too.
The Impala is missing 3 grassland (see grass icons). Therefore the Impala's victory points are placed upside down yet, to keep scores clear for the end calculation.

The more complex the habitat requirements of an animal are, the more victory points it brings if you fulfill it.

This endscore example of player Yellow (yellow start entrance building) has all the different kinds of tiles. (A real end park normally looks different, it's unlikely to build 4 watchtowers and all the 4 different types.)

With 5 players, parks have a size like in this picture. With 4, 3 or 2 players, the parks are resp. 1, 2 and 3 tiles bigger.

The production number of the game will be about 1000 copies, because the ceramic animal miniatures are limited available.

Therefore the number of backers is limited to 600. You can back more than 1 copy of the game, though experience tells that this backers limit keeps the number of backed games under 1000. To have some copies remaining for the 'Spiel'-fair, but joining at Kickstarter saves you EUR 2,- (25,- instead of 27,-).

The 5 ceramic "pawns" are packed first separate in ziplocks and then together in a sturdy bubble bag ziplock. To place in the smallest area of the box inlay.

'Get the Game' EUR 25.00. Includes 1x *HABITATS* boardgame.
Add EUR 25.00 per extra game. (No extra delivery costs!)
For example, 3 games to Italy makes EUR 25 + 25 + 25 + 10 (delivery) = EUR 85.
Select 'Antarctica' in case of picking up at the Spiel-fair in Essen (Germany). Then the delivery costs are EUR 0.00.
At the 'Spiel'-fair, without joining at Kickstarter, the price is 27,- instead of 25,-.

Flat shipping rates, no matter how many games you choose!

--- Netherlands / Germany / Belgium: EUR 8.00
--- European Union: EUR 10.00
--- Rest of the World: EUR 15.00

Once you choose your pledge level, these shipping costs are added automatically.
The real average shipping costs are higher, especially to far-away countries. Above rates are what we calculate you.

You can let us pack other Cwali-games in your rewards package. (No extra delivery costs!) Just raise your pledge and message me which games you add.

Risks and challenges

In past years as author&publisher, challenges have always occurred and have always been overcome.
Production is prepared well. With sending in October, all backers may receive it in October, otherwise November.
Cost calculations were made carefull, so that hopefully many backers join.
