Spirits of Carter Mansion is a Haunted House Social Deduction game where the players are the spirits that haunt the grand estate!

Spirits of Carter Mansion is a Haunted House Social Deduction game where a child foolishly wanders into the haunted Carter estate, and the angry (or nice) spirits who are you, the players, argue over their fate in a bluffing, betrayal, social negotiation Haunted House microgame!
What makes Spirits of Carter Mansion unique from other Social Deduction games:
- No player elimination
- No Day/Night phase
- Choose your own alignment
- Change your own alignment, or force others to change
- No penalty for coming out as Evil
- Possibility of full co-operative victory
- 16 Unique gorgeously illustrated rooms
To set up the game, Remove the Foyer, Basement, and Grand Entrance. The foyer is placed face-up denoting the "Active room" zone, and the Basement and Grand Entrance placed beside it face down become the starting central deck. Return the corridor cards to the box if playing with 3 or 4 players.
Each of the remaining cards are shuffled and three are dealt to each player, (with the exception of 3 player game, where each player gets four cards) Players then select a card from their hand to be their alignment card, this card's colour icon in the top right corner determines what team they are on. Blue for Good, and Red for Evil. This card is then placed face-down in front of you (and an Alignment punch card tracker placed on top). Players are able to negotiate the Alignment selection process, and bluff about their choices.
First Elect a Spirit Guide, The first Spirit Guide of the game is the player who explained the rules. Any time a new Spirit Guide is elected it is the player to the left of the previous Spirit Guide.
Players then choose a card from their hand to pitch to the spirit guide to be the active room, This is where the players bluff, deceive or attempt to co-operate in order to give the Spirit Guide the best chance at choosing a room card that will benefit their team the most. The players and the Spirit Guide often also have to bluff or build trust around their alignment during this stage. The Spirit Guide then chooses which room is to become the active room.
The player who suggested the chosen room, activates its effect, including choosing any targets, If a victory condition isn't met, the role of the Spirit Guide passes to the left, and players continue to suggest rooms.
The game ends when either that Basement is chosen as the active room without the Soccer Ball, or the Grand Entrance is chosen with the Soccer Ball in play! Once a victory condition is triggered each player reveals their alignment cards, and all players of that team win!

If the campaign makes 40% funded on Day one we will include 5x Player Alignment Punchcard tokens, that players use to indicate their Alignment during play. The art above is only placeholder, and you will get a chance to see the final before the game is shipped. This component is a handy reminder, as lots of cards go on the table face down, this way players don't accidentally mix up their suggested room and their alignment card.

If all three goals, (the two previous extra card ones, and this mailing list goal) are met, then the three new cards act as a 6th player expansion for both editions of the game!
The rulebook for Castles of Caleira Season one was bit of a Disaster, so we've decided to make our social goal a big Rulebook upgrade, so that if we get 50 Facebook shares (from the post linked in this image) we will add pages to the Two Game Deluxe Box that includes a list of all the backers that supported this campaign! We've teamed up with Siege Sloth Games a video game design company based in Australia, to create a free-to-play online digital version of Castles of Caleira season 2, If this campaign gets 150% we will have the funds to be able to start work on creating a digital version of the game, with some features like: Online players vs players, player vs AI, leaderboards, and more! If this goes ahead, all Patrons and Kickstarter Backers will get exclusive early access to the game before it is made available to the public!
If we hit 175% funded, we'll be able to also get Spirits of Carter Mansion a free-to-play digital version of the game, which all Patrons and Kickstarter backers will get exclusive early access to the game before it is made available to the public! Which also means that if we reach all of our stretch goals, you could be potentially getting two free games on top of your physical copies!

Risks and challenges
I'm hoping that a second campaign would be easier than the first, but I'm just as vigilant for the potential challenges that can arise. My experience with the first campaign has made preparation a much smoother process, and I'm hoping that it makes completing the game's production cycle a smoother process.
We'll be walking in the same footsteps as the first campaign, in most respects so as to make for a smoother journey, with less surprises, this will hopefully help guarantee our delivery date. The game's already had all of it's art content completed (with the exception of stretch goals), so it is ready to hit production immediately upon campaign completion.
