About this project
Welner Associates and Curbs & Stoops have teamed up to create a progressive cultural center in the quickly growing community of Bushwick, Brooklyn.
A curated mural wall holds the corner, marking our presence as the center of a growing Brooklyn arts district. This urban gesture leads the pedestrian into our street level gallery space, where a floating wall continues the sequence of engaging art. The gallery is curated within the context of the local community and is progressive in its programming.
The wall will protrude off the facade of the building and include lighting for evening display. The wall will be curated by Curbs and Stoops and will change seasonally to allow a variety of artists to participate in the decor of the community.
Chor Boogie has volunteered to be the first artist to participate in the project.
Our goal is $10,000 which will go to the construction of the wall and pay the artists expenses for the first mural. We are new at this so if you know of other ideas of what would motivate you to donate, please let us know! We really want to take this from idea to reality!
