Totally a big joke funding this stupid cookoo watch. The newest version of the app don't seem to fully support this 1st edition cookoo watch. Then their so called support totally disappointing. Didn't response to my enquiry and they would just close my tickets twice!
I had forgotten about the watch until this evening when I found it amongst a few other used Kickstarter watches (Pebble, Henry Watch, Alph Watch) I proudly store in a small bin.
So I laid them out on my desk, deciding to charge the pebble (still charging), admire the Henry for it's embarrassingly large and annoyingly hulking proportions. I turned my attention to the Cookoo thinking that I'd sync it to my phone and see if I could recall why I'd backed it in the first place.
Sadly as I pressed the magical pairing button, the Cookoo turned on and started a perpetual vibration mode of some sort and just would not stop. Finally I had to remove the really jammed in battery, to stop it and hopefully hard reset it. The reset did not work and the watch resumed its incessant vibrating mode and was unwilling to pair with my phone running the connected watch app.
Searching for help with the issue yielded nothing - nothing - nothing.
So another Cookoo goes unused and unappreciated - so sad....
Yeah, although I really wanted it to be successful. Initially I was very excited about it... and thought it would make a nice everyday watch.
@Hector really cool. I tried the keychain app on the SGS4 and its a joke. Can't stay connected for more than 5 seconds if that.
There is hope. I got a refund from Peter.

And where is the API you promised?
It took you over a year after the estimated delivery date to finally release TOKEN support for android, which was promised from day one. Even this new version still mostly does not work.
It is insulting that you would send us multiple advertisement emails for Christmas when you've left many of us with an expensive paperweight.
I can't speak for the status of this project for those with an iPhone, but I strongly suggest anyone with an android phone not buy this product.
Please for the love of any deity you believe in STOP SENDING ME EMAILS about your horrible product that I was stupid enough to purchase thinking some day I could use it with Android. Peter I hope that you can sleep well at night knowing that you screwed 100's/1000's of us. Happy Holidays!
@jules... Agreed. The email clearly says it supports Android. Lying pieces of... Anyway. Yeah. I'm still frustrated about it. I heard wind if a class action suit against them a while back. Last I heard it was gaining steam. They are constantly handing out mis-information.
I have had 2 of these for a year, and there is still no support for my android devices! Total waste of money.
Grateful for the eye-openers!!! I was about to order two more for family members since the $65 Christmas+Free Shipping offer seemed pretty good... But clearly there's a lot left to be desired on this brick.
The first backer email said there was a $5 charge to ship internationally (I guess "international" is everywhere except the US, yet fulfillment is from HongKong?), and the second backer "reminder" email said use the code "SHIPFREE" at check out... Well well well, seems the first email was correct - at checkout it asked for $5 shipping to Europe. Another inconsistency. Someone is desperate.

So I don't have the watches because I opted to wait for the Android app, yet there has been no Android app over the entire year that I have waited and there doesn't seem that there will actually be one anytime soon so I requested a refund months ago and all I have gotten is the damn runaround from 'Ethan Bass' This is crap! I messaged Peter Hauser on Facebook, but guess what... no answer.
Another email?! Really!? The email says android support... Care to elaborate... This is pathetic... False advertising. Maybe we should all buy and then sue the hell out of you for false advertising...
I threw away my watch when I moved (seeing as the refund is never happening) and hoped to be just done with it, but that email was just another twist in the knife, ha!

You guys have the audacity to email me/us with an offer to get more Cookoo's? Your product NEVER (repeat NEVER) worked with Android phones. I literally have never used it. Sad. I'd ask for a refund, but it looks like that's not going to happen.
December 9, 2013... Cookoo support still refuses to give me a refund, even after explaining to them that there still isn't an Android app that will work with the Android phones (with BT 4.0) that I own and no indication of if/when they will ever work. They told me that I ordered it more than 30 days ago so they can't give me a refund... like seriously WHOA.

I've been using the watch for over 4months with my iphone5. It works great. Had to turn off the email notifier though. That was getting too annoying since I get way to much email per day.

You should refund everybody. Your product is absolutely useless. Doesn't work as described. It's just a fat, ugly watch.
Looks that way David. I asked for a refund and they told me that I should go ahead and get my watches and sell them to recover my money. "I'd recommend receiving your watch and selling it for more than what you pledged for. That may be possible to do."
I'm probably spitting in to the wind here, but is there any news on continued development on the Android application?

I just asked for my refund and happened to check the cookoo website after I asked for my refund (which I still want) since I don't have a Galaxy S4. I've been waiting too darn long for this watch. Expected Delivery was November 2012, but even if we give it some time and extend the expect time to January, it's been 9 months. One whole year and still no 'land' it sight. I'm seasick right now and I just want my refund. Maybe I'll come back to the party for cookoo 2, but I'm too disappointed right now.

Came in to check to see how the comments were going here. Really glad I eBay'd both the watch and Keychain. Because it doesn't look like its working yet with Android. After ebay fees and shipping, I think I broke even. So I'm happy. Although, I really wish I hadn't backed this project. And I will say, this project has ruined any future awesome kickstarter backings from me. I have learned my lesson. If I want a product, I will wait until its real and works before I dump my money into it.
On a side note, I'm really happy with my Pebble watch.
@Fredrik - I am not sure about a lawsuit to be honest. It's not something I would personally pursue, not over a watch, unless it was a Patek Phillippe. That said, the fact that the team ALMOST has the app working on the S4 is really unacceptable. The S4 may be a super popular smarphone, but it is by no means even close to representing the entire Android community. I have an LG, we all have friends that have HTC's, Motorola's, Huawei, Sony, etc... Samsung represents about 1 in 4 Android phones, so I cannot see how this development could possibly be considered as a fulfillment of the TOS. To add to the absurdity, we are told that the app will potentially work for *rooted* S3's. What if people don't want to root? They are telling people that to use the product they must void their warranty! The app needs to be developed to work for everyone as promised.
@Peter - what's the response on refunding backers running Android? Nothing from anyone at CooKoo for two months.
Of course we are entitled to a refund. But I suspect the watch is rather difficult to sell for them, and who knows if there's even any money left to claim. Shoudln't stop anyone from trying though. They have broken their part of the agreement.

Peter I guess you have a different definition of "shortly" (said June 19th) than the rest of the world. Where do you stand with getting us the update for android or refunded all of us?
@Peter I aswell would like to return my watch for a refund, unless you want to break the TOS.
@Arnold, Seth - If they don't comply with the TOS, aka refuse to give us refunds, I suppose someone could sue them, right? I mean even if they get out an app that works on the S4 by Christmas, next year or so, that is still not what they promised. It was for example supposed to work on my HOX.
@Arnold Jung - that is a very interesting find. According to that language and the language that creators see when they agree to the terms of service we should be entitled to a refund. The terms of service state "If your project is successfully funded, you are required to fulfill all rewards or refund any backer whose reward you do not or cannot fulfill." While I know we received the watch per the project, the promises to develop for Android have not been taken seriously.
@ Peter Hauser and the CooKoo team, I will be more than happy to return my watch for a refund.
I have to agree with Adam McGready. I would really appreciate a refund, unfortunately I am certain the only way I will get that is to sell the watch.
I have been horridly disappointed by the complete lack of development for android and the fact that after the first month or two communication has been virtually nonexistent. I'm really glad that as an Android owner with no iOS devices at all I was able to contribute money that would help you develop an iOS product. I sure hope that you make lots of money on sales from your iOS customers based on all the money given to you by backers with Android devices.
It's been over a month without any word on the " full release by August that includes additional feature support as well as our new UI." I have a Galaxy S4 and a watch that has been in the box since I got it.
Now, where the hell is my Cookoo?

Finally after all this time I was able to use a keychain. My wife upgraded to a iPhone 5. I am still waiting for an Android version for my SGS4. Still deciding if I want to sell them.
Anyone know whether or not the keychains are available and if they work?
I was happy to sell my two watches on eBay this weekend. I hope the watch improves with age. I am completely disappointed with the watch and it's iOS software...
When will we all receive our refunds for you failing to fulfill your end of the project?
Question, Those of us with our Cookoos sitting in a box waiting on an android app, When and if the app is ever delivered, what happens when at that time we discover our Cookoos have a defect or some other issue that we haven't been able to test because we have no way of testing our watch functions with out an app? Will you repair, replace, or refund then?
