Once again, we celebrate the anniversary of H. P. Lovecraft with a very special project: a set of 3 pieces representing Lovecraft's work in the form of Matrioshkas.
The inner piece is dedicated to Lovecraft with the Necronomicon. From Lovecraft emerges the second piece, the Shoggoth, representing his fantastic novel "At the Mountains of Madness". The bigger piece, containing the others inside, has been dedicated to his most emblematic creature, Cthulhu, the character of the short story "The Call of Cthulhu" who has become a popular icon decades after the author's death.
The 3 pieces are presented as a collection of matrioshkas, made of high quality resin and hand painted in limited edition.
The outer/bigger piece is Cthulhu, the creature created by Lovecraft in the story "The Call of Cthulhu" first published in the pulp magazine Weird Tales in 1928. Cthulhu is the leading representative of Lovecraft's fictional universe, composed by stories like Dagon, The Colour Out of Space, The Dunwich Horror, The Shadow over Innsmouth, The Shadow Out of Time as well as the mentioned The Call of Cthulhu.
Cthulhu is 5.9" / 15cm tall and 9.8" / 25cm contour. Like our previous Mountains of Madness series, the pieces have been sculpted by the talented sculptress Marta Lopez.
The soft curves of this piece follow the traditional silhouette of the classic Matrioshkas to house the other pieces inside, highlighting the magnificence of the immense creature.
"It was a terrible, indescribable thing vaster than any subway train—a shapeless congeries of protoplasmic bubbles, faintly self-luminous, and with myriads of temporary eyes forming and un-forming as pustules of greenish light" —Lovecraft
The Shoggoth is the horrible amoeba-like creature found in the deep of the Mountains of Madness… tekeli-li, tekeli-li! At the Mountains of Madness was written in February 1931 and serialized in Astounding Stories by 1936, one year before the death of Lovecraft. The fully restored text was not published until 1985, and it has become a great reference point in modern science-fiction.
Shoggoth is the middle piece, with 3.9" / 10cm tall and 6.6" / 27cm contour, hosting Lovecraft inside.
Lovecraft, born in August 20 (1890), is the inner piece, as all the creatures emerges from his mind. The piece shows the author with the Necronomicon in his hands, a key piece in all his work of fiction, surrounded by tentacles and death.
Lovecraft is the smaller piece, with 2.7" / 7cm tall and 5" / 12.5cm contour.

Risks and challenges
During the last months we have prepared the designs, moulds and prototypes of all the pieces, so we have advanced most of this project. All pieces are produced in resin and hand painted. Once the campaign is over we will start the production process. We have experience in production and shipping thanks to all the above projects, so you can rely on us.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
