We are Chicago Sculpture International, and we aim to expand Chicago’s appreciation and knowledge of sculpture by displaying diverse work throughout the city. We want to give Chicago broader access to art, and to change the visual landscape for 2012.

Under the umbrella title “Activate Chicago with Sculpture 2012,” Chicago Sculpture International is seeking to fund four specific shows that complement the “Process, Patron, Public” 23rd ISC Sculpture Conference being held in Chicago in October 2012.

The first show, entitled “The Installation Experiment,” opens September 9, 2012 in the Chicago Arts District in Pilsen and is comprised of seven installation works.

The second show, entitled “Form in Flora II,” runs from September 8 to November 3, 2012, and is comprised of sculpture located among the plants within the Lincoln Park Conservatory building.

The third show, entitled "Six to the Third", runs from September 25 to October 14, 2012, and is comprised of sculptures that are no bigger then 6"x6"x6".

The fourth show, entitled "Chicago Parks District/Chicago Sculpture International Outdoor Exhibition", opens September 2012 and will run until August 2013. This show includes 64 large scale public outdoor works installed along Chicago's public lakefront from Belmont Harbor to Promontory Point Park, and along Stockton Drive from Fullerton Avenue to North Avenue.

Collectively, these shows “Activate Chicago with Sculpture” in 2012, and most importantly, all of these shows are free and open to the public.  But while these shows have recently been installed, our expenses have just begun.  Thus, we are seeking funding to support the costs of these shows, including: installation and de-installation expenses such as crane rentals; curator fees; catalog production costs; and ideally, small artist awards.
