Have a question?
Yeah. So I got murdered....round 3 of game one. Good stuff. We only played a couple games...you know, primer. I think between the games, we ran the basic super fast type and the more drawn out slug fest.
The only comment people were consistent with from the games was they wished there were more ways to deflect or block damage. I realize that would potentially draw out each game. We clearly need to work our way through more of the Ripper deck. One of our games burned through one and a half Item decks though.
Good time though. I'm going to have to play more.
Sounds great! We cannot wait to hear!
I'm also excited to finally get the chance to play the game for the first time. The run up to Christmas involved more work at home and at the office than I expected. But I'm ready to have a go with my friends now.
I also get to gift my extra copy to a long time friend who is not familiar with the game yet. I'll let you know the reaction.
First of all, congratulations on getting married! We wish you both the absolute best!
We are super happy that you enjoyed your first game and the fact that you were Jack the first go around is outstanding. And thank you for all the kind words, we love hearing these stories!
Please do keep in touch with us here and at CryptMonkeyGames.com. We’ll be adding alternate rulesets and house rule suggestions in the next few months.
@Crypt Monkey, All
I actually received my copy a week or two ago (and I absolutely LOVE all the extras, especially the AWESOME T-shirt that I've already worn two or three times!), but just got to play it last night/this morning for the first time (been a bit distracted with getting married and finishing a college semester) after our 5e game with a couple friends, and we LOVED it RIGHT AWAY!
I got to be Jack right away (bonus for me as the buyer!), and even though we only got in one game (we started at about 12:30-1:00AM) it was clear that this is going to be a game table staple from here on out!
Thanks so much CMS, we absolutely love the fast mechanics, the slick and creepy look and the devious play style of JtR, and I'm absolutely glad I backed! My only regret is that I didn't opt to get the KSE playmat as well!
Congrats again on an AWESOME game and a successful campaign!
No, I am not sure what is happening there but I will look into it and get back to you.
Thanks for giving me the heads up,
Hello @cryptmonkeystudios, I was following the tracking to Mexico and for some reason, I suddenly saw it go back to USA. I never got a call from customs or anything. By any chance, do you know what couls have happened?
We are so happy you love the game! We sure hope you get to play again thou.
We all have our own strategies for playing and it is fun to hear what other people are using as well.
If you are worried about spoiling it for some, send us a private message, we would love to hear you strategy.
Dawn and Ty
Still, though, love it. It's super lively, and there are so many strategies for Jack and the others.
Three of the cards will do it for you faster than anything else, on both sides, and some of the Ripper cards? We had Jack switch twice, in two turns, and then I played a switch, and we knew it was between two people, but they were both so wild that it just a little brain breaking. So good. Has anyone else cracked it open yet? I want to talk about it, but I don't want to spoil things for people whose games are in transit.
Just got done playing this game, and if I never play it again, I still will have gotten twice my money's worth. It was fantastic. We played for over two hours, always having time for just one more game.
Had to make a house rule already though. Anyone who gets the Irish Whiskey before game starts has to trade it in and draw anew because it can end a game before it begins. (Jack got the Whiskey in her starting hand, and the first Ripper card killed the person/persons with the highest health. So just after dealing cards, we had to reshuffle.)
Thats great to hear!!! Let us know how it goes once you have had a chance to play!

Received my package earlier this week in Toronto, Canada! So excited and it looks amazing!
Awesome to hear!
I just received the package and all look great, the play mat has a good grip, that'll lead to some good games for the christmas holidays in family, thanks a lot. You did a great job here. Keep it like that.
Received my loot! The packaging is a nice touch and everything looks great.
Now, I just need to decide which of the two playmat versions I'm giving to my friend for Christmas. Probably going to be the original....because you know...exclusive bug....
Congrats Ty, Dawn and crew! You guys really pulled this off in style. I wish you continued success for the future.
I will resend you the link!
One quick question as maybe I missed an e-mail or msg but I backed the download PDF Matt but I've no link I can find to the pdf
We are so happy to be able to send out decks so soon!!
My copy just arrived in England today can't wait to have a game soon
Shipping notice?! You guys are rocking a 3 month early delivery. Very cool. Looking forward to seeing it.
In transit. I received the mail with the tracking number. Thanks. I'll play it for Christmas with the family.
Awesome! Glad to hear it Joshua!
Received in Michigan today, looks awesome
Yes EDT! We are super excited that we were able to fulfill the rewards this quickly. We have to give HUGE THANKS to Shuffled Ink in Florida for the amazing job they did and how fast they were able to get the decks done!
Wow, I got it super early! Awesome!!!!
Glad to hear it, Zillah! Let us know how it goes!!
Holy cow - I got my game today! Can't wait to play it!
@ underAtack: We could not have done this without our backers! We will be working night and day to get Jack into everyone's home and keeping you all updated along the way!
Congrats on a successful campaign! Now get crackin' and let Jack out of his cage!!!
We were talking about the t-shirts and If anyone was interested, it does look like two slots opened up in the First Survivor level.
@Mike Ackerman LOL Yea that would be amazing.
Now we just need someone to make a $4500 pledge and we're at foil :)
Yeah! Outstanding! Jack is standing in the shadows of the next room smirking at me and that's a little creepy but... You guys rock!
And the first stretch goal just got hit :D
@underAtack it is getting exciting!
On another note, we did talk about reopening the T-Shirt level but opted not to at this stage I'm afraid. It was great idea though!
C'mon, people! We've got 3 hours to raise just $37 more!
Thanks for the suggestion too. We'll talk about it and see if this is something we could do.
@Mike Ackerman We'll see - We aren't trending too far from there and we still have another 24 hours to go!
I can't speak for everyone else, as most people find inclusion in a club with a small select number of members to be gratifying due to its exclusivity, but I would be okay if you guys opened up a few more slots in the First Survivor reward level - like 10, 15 or even 35 more slots (making it an even 50); this still keeps the number of T-shirts you have to produce relatively limited, and should get us to the first stretch goal (if not further!).
In other news: Ooooh! We got another backer!
Well, I'm increasing my pledge for some of those autographed beta cards; hopefully others will, too, which should at least let us hit the $6300 mark!
Damn, looks like we're not going to hit the linen finish nor the foil stretches.
@underAtack Yea I like that red one too but I like a couple of them. We'll be doing a Backer update tonight so you guys can all weigh in!
As for the foils, DEFINITELY Red! Very fitting for the tone of the game!
@Preston Jacka - You are so right and thank you for your comment. I'm excited to see how many stretch goals we can accomplish in the next 7 days. You guys are amazing!
Hooray! Funded. Now let's get some stretch goals and set this thing up with some Victorian era-suitable polish.
@underAtack and @Preston Jacka
We talked about having a retail pledge level before we launched but decided against it to keep the quantity of reward levels down. We will talk it over some more this evening.
Thanks guys for all the great input!!
@underattack - You beat me to it.
I know I keep throwing ideas out, and they may not all work for this KS, but here comes another one anyways: you might think about adding a retailer-only pledge level to this (with retail verification required, of course) to allow retailers the opportunity to get a bulk amount at a notably better price (or maybe two levels: retailer-5 game copies and 5 playmats @$110; and retailer plus-10 game copies and 10 playmats @$210).
@ Preston Jacka: thanks for the comment. We have been working on some ideas and we will be releasing them this evening in an update.
It is awesome to have our backers so involved with us in this process! We cannot wait to get Jack to everyone!
@Crypt Monkey Studios If the bag and tin are KS exclusive, I would recommend that you switch their order. Fund the bag at $7,500 and the tin at $14,000 if that meets the production point. That keeps your two big stretch goals in sequence and gives an earlier, maybe less substantial goal as more attainable.
