House of Possession
Welcome to House of Possession. Move through the rooms, collect exits and avoid possession. Only the first to escape will survive!

You thought this evening would be a calm and relaxing end to your week. After all, you have visited your wealthy friend’s Victorian era mansion for dinner parties before. But when the strange, otherworldly voice emanates from your host, you instantly know that you should have stayed home.
The demon possessing your friend issues a challenge, "Escape the house and get off the property, and we will allow you to live the rest of your life unharmed. The catch, of course, is that only one of you will be allowed to leave. The rest will remain in the house as the food and playthings of demons for all eternity."
House of Possession is a filler board game where you race to be the first to escape.
- Lasts 10 – 30 minutes per game,
- Plays 2 – 6 players,
- Is won by the first player to gather 10 or more Exit Points!
Each player in the fast-paced game of HoP has a unique character that:
- Moves through the house as you collect and play exits,
- Causes Possession Events when in the room with The Haunt Token,
- Has Desperate Acts to help you gain the upper hand.
Interview, Rules Walk Through, and Short Game on Table Crashers
During your turn, move your character through the house and play Boons and an Exit. You’ll draw more Exits, Boons, and (optionally) Sins from The Escape Deck, unless you are Possessed that is. Be the first player to collect ten (10) Exit Points at the end of any turn and you will escape for good!
Throughout the game, playing Exits with the Possession icon or landing in the same room as The Haunt Token will cause you to draw a card from the Possession Deck. The event cards in the Possession Deck are trying to possess characters and slow down your escape.
A player with a Possessed character cannot draw from the Escape Deck and must discard their entire hand. Additionally, any characters unlucky enough to be in the same room as a possessed character are frightened and their player must discard their entire hand as well.
Each Exit has a point value that adds to your total collected Exit Points when you play it. Be strategic when playing an Exit, these can be removed or stolen from your play area if left vulnerable. Boons help to improve and fortify your Exits, but they must share the same Wood or Metal material as the Exit.
There are two kinds of Boons: Tool(s) & Protection(s). Protection Boons prevent your Exits from being removed from your play area.
Tools add additional Exit Points to your Exit that help get you that much closer to escaping.
NOTE: Sin Cards tend to increase the normal playtime of 10 to 30 minutes to 30 to 60 minutes.
You can also play House of Possession with the optional Sin Cards. While Sin Cards may add more playtime, they will also add more painfully, gut-wrenching fun.
Sin Cards allow you to tap into your Evil side and take advantage of the darkness surrounding you.
Implements of Chaos
With these Sin Cards, you can crush dreams of freedom.
Your opponent believes they are making their way off the property, until you play one of these delightfully, malicious cards. These Sin Cards destroy Tool Boons and short your opponent precious Exit Points.
These Sin Cards weaken the resolve and confidence of your opponents while keeping them off balance.
Just as the other players begin to feel that they have this game on-lock and that their Exits are safely guarded by the garrisons of light, you prove that you can dim the light at the last moment. Devastated by the loss of a Protection Boon, they feel the vulnerability of their once safe Exit.
Each player has a character with a unique set of abilities called Desperate Acts.
Desperate Acts allow you to manipulate the race and help you get ahead of the other players.
Remember, you don’t have to be faster than the demons that hunt you, just faster than your opponents.
The game is done!
We have completed testing and designed our cards and packaging. We also have the great honor and privilege to have worked with an outstanding Artist, Alejandro Castillo. So, the artwork for the base game is all done too! We do have other potential artwork planned, depending on stretch goals that we may reach.
So what’s left? We just need you to tell us how much you like our idea. With your support, we will be able to pump the last 1.21 gigawatts into this monster and bring it to life. With your support and backing, all our designs will be made into a beautifully boxed board and card game that will provide hours of cutthroat fun for you and your friends and family.

How to Add On Items
Simply take the price listed for the Add On you want and add that amount to your pledge amount.
For example, let’s say your pledge level is The Possessed at $25 USD. Then you also want to add on a copy of our hidden identity / bluffing game, Jack the Ripper, for $20. Just add the two amounts and increase your pledge total to $45. When you login into our CrowdOx Pledge Manager after the campaign has ended, you will be able add your deck of Jack the Ripper to your rewards.
KEEP IN MIND that the shipping cost will be added from the CrowdOx Pledge Manager and will increase with add on items.
We will be charging shipping after the Kickstarter is over. Once we have funded, you will receive information for our pledge manager, CrowdOx. Using a pledge manager will not only help us keep organized, it will also enable you to add on or upgrade your pledge after the Kickstarter is over.
The estimates for shipping the base game are as follows:
- USA - $10.00
- Canada - $16.00
- Mexico - $22.00
- Rest of World - $24.00
Note add ons may increase the shipping charges. These will all be calculated after the Kickstarter Campaign ends.
Also note these estimates do NOT include any possible customs or VAT taxes. We are working with global friendly fulfillment companies to reduce the shipping costs and avoid any unnecessary fees if possible. We will update these estimates when we have reached the minimum required number of backers.
Risks and challenges
We are happy to say that this is not our first Kickstarter Adventure. With the help of our amazing backers, we were able to release that dark force, Jack the Ripper, into the world. We were also able to get our rewards to backers several months ahead of schedule.
Even with that wonderful story in our experience, there are always challenges and roadblocks that can interfere with speedy manufacturing and delivery. To avoid as many delays as we can, we have worked closely with our manufacturers so that we can understand the capabilities and turnaround times required. We also have quotes in from multiple printing companies, so we are ready for all quantities.
Though there could be unforeseen delays in production and our estimates are only estimates, we don’t see any issues in meeting our carefully planned pledge rewards at this time. And if our planning is eroded by production or shipping issues, rest assured, we will notify our backers right away, so you will be quickly aware of any delays.
