CrunchCup - The World's Greatest Portable Cereal Cup

$35,213

We don’t always have time for breakfast when we get up in the morning. Even cereal, the quickest of meals, can be a challenge when you’re trying to beat the clock. You might be one of the many people that skips breakfast entirely — those days are over. We couldn’t believe there wasn’t a viable option to eat your cereal on-the-go, so we made one, and it’s awesome. It's called **drumroll** The CrunchCup.

The Crunch Company (that's us), set out to create a portable cereal cup that does not mess around. We don't play that soggy cereal nonsense. Which is why it's a two cup system; one for the cereal and the other for the milk. The cereal and milk don't meet until they hit your mouth.

Link to the Product Watch article.

The CrunchCup is made out of an extremely badass, high-grade plastic called Tritan. It does not contain BPA, BPS, or any other bisphenol. Tritan is a clear and stylish material that resembles glass but will not break if you drop it. It’s dishwasher friendly, shatter resistant, and has been tested by four different third-party labs for safety.

As a company we believe in giving back to the community. We started a social media campaign called #Spooning4Hunger. You can learn more about it on the Spooning4Hunger Instagram

While some Kickstarters determine their stretch goals with strictly dollar amounts we decided it would be fun to throw some challenges into the mix. If you guys achieve them AND we hit the required amount of backers, we'll bring these stretch goals to life. Some challenges have to be done more than others, and they can be done by anyone so get the whole Crunch-fam involved!

The idea of creating a cup that holds cereal and milk was conceived when Rob Lambert and his daughter were out for dinner one night. His daughter, Unique, had the idea to start a cereal bar. Rob liked the proposal, but he wondered what would make the idea extraordinary. Was there a way to transport the cereal that would separate her from the competition?

Later that week, Rob met up with Kevin Meyer, and they started spit-balling ideas for a portable cereal cup that would keep milk and cereal separate.

After multiple iterations, countless hours kit-bashing with hot glue, CAD, and 3D printing magic, they arrived at a prototype that was ready to be finished by product designer and close friend, Blake Nichols, who made the CrunchCup what it is today.

Risks and challenges

Though we've brought products to market before under different entities, this is our first time creating a food-related product. We wanted to ensure that we had the highest quality, safest, and most environmentally friendly materials available. Finding a manufacturer that offers all three of those was difficult, but we're not going to compromise our product.
