ABOUT THIS PROJECT
In a nutshell, CrowdFormed is social app development! During each new development round, the community will submit / choose / design and market a new app idea. We will develop the community's idea and release it! All profits are shared with the people in the community who made it happen!
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE AT CROWDFORMED?
One of the major misconceptions is that you have to know how to program to submit your ideas and earn money when CrowdFormed launches. This couldn't be further from the truth. EVERYONE has ideas, and everything starts with an idea. The community will not be responsible for ANY programming whatsoever. Let us do the dirty work, you just tell us what to do! We need people with ideas, people who use apps now and think they could be better. We need people that know what a good logo should look like for our apps. If you've made it to this Kick Starter page, you have what it takes to be a part of the CrowdFormed community.
There are hundreds of thousands of applications being developed and marketed for smartphones like the iPhone and Android platform, but only a small percentage of them ever make it to the top of the charts and bring in hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of dollars. There's also new and innovative websites popping up all the time that are making developers overnight millionaires, but in most cases, a lack of experience and a lack of marketing power dooms them to stagnate - as long as the internet exists, this will probably continue to be true.
We are using the "power of the crowd" to develop applications and websites that are truly innovative - these are the apps that have the potential to succeed big time. All of our software will emphasize community and networking in one way or another, so they can take advantage of our built in community to prosper. Our community is our greatest asset in both development and marketing (and we reward them handsomely)
ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AN IDEA FOR A GREAT APP OR AN AWESOME WEBSITE:
Just ask them - the ideas aren't always feasible (yeah, we can't turn the camera into an x-ray, sorry) but they are incredibly creative. The only problem is that these people aren't programmers or developers - they have no idea how to create an application or a complex website, so the idea will never materialize... or will it?
With CrowdFormed, our goal is to let the community be a part of the next big thing - we want everyone to share in the wealth of developing really really cool stuff.
SO HOW DOES IT WORK?
There are two ways to get some "pull" in our system:
You can submit an idea for a fee, or
You can help us develop the software in our development rounds, and participating costs absolutely nothing.
Submitting an idea for $39 earns you a spot in our next submission round where ideas are rated and commented on by the community. Based on ratings, we will choose a winner as the next app or website to develop and the winner will receive a 25% influence in the project.
There are many ways to participate in each round, and for each project a user participates in, they will earn a small percentage of "pull" for that project.
Once the development rounds are over, our team will put the entire thing together in the least amount of time possible, and with the help of the community we will market and publicize our projects.
WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF CROWD-BASED SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT?
By letting the crowd decide which projects to develop, we are more likely to develop projects that people are genuinely interested in purchasing and participating in. Furthermore, once the projects are done, we will have a crowd of potentially hundreds to purchase, evangelize and further develop the concept.
Additionally, it's a lot of fun to create stuff. Over 8 billion minutes a day are spent on facebook, what if just a fraction of those minutes were spent on creating something great? We believe that software can change the way we live - and with CrowdFormed, anyone can be a part of that change.
WHY WOULD THE ORIGINATORS OF APP/WEBSITE IDEAS BE WILLING TO SUBMIT THEIR IDEAS?
There are many reasons. Successfully developing and marketing an app or website can cost many thousands of dollars, and unless you have a lot of experience the results you get will be spotty. It could also take a lot of personal time and energy. For most people, developing their own software is out of the question.
The difficulty of marketing an app or website is often overlooked - it can be very expensive and if you don't have experience with it, you'll need a pro on your side.
With crowdformed, our crowd of hundreds (and eventually thousands) is an invaluable marketing resource - additionally, we have a marketing budget for your app and enough experience to pull it off.
By having your idea developed by the crowd, it will be much more likely to succeed. Your idea will instantly have a community of fans and could go big in a very short period of time.
WHY DO WE NEED MONEY NOW?
Although we have been extremely busy piecing our site together, it is time to polish it a bit.
We also need to Beta Test our site and since we are building a community we are in dire need of users.
We figured that if we pre-sale idea submissions at half price or less and partner with KICKSTARTER "being social in nature" would be a the perfect plan to launch our beta stage.
SOME USEFUL TIDBITS:
Submissions are $39, resubmissions of the same idea (with modifications allowed) is only $10, for as many rounds as the submitter wants.
Influence in an idea can be earned from activities ranging from making useful comments in our forum about the project, submitting layouts, graphics, suggesting features, etc.
We will have marketing rounds where members can earn influence by helping to market (and purchase) the product
Members will earn cash based on their influence percentage and how much revenue the project has brought in. If we ever sell the app or website to a third party down the line, members will receive their fair share based on their percentage influence in the project.
We are committed to using 100% of the submission money for app development; we will never pull it out as profits.
While only one person can win each round, if you submit an idea then you are guaranteed a portion of influence for that round, whether or not you win.
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
