Nightshadow is a Comic Book Style feature film that is currently in preproduction, set to be filmed within the next few months (Spring-Summer 2016). While we are getting investors in place for the production of the film, the timeline is extremely truncated, so we need to raise immediate funds for the cost of the primary costumes, weapons, and props for the film.
That's where you, our Kickstarter Supporters, come in. Costume Designers need to purchase their materials, hire extra employees, and use the designated budget to create the wardrobe for the main characters NOW!
You can read the full extended synopsis of Nightshadow on our website.
You are very important to our project! We have hired two very talented teams to create our costumes for Nightshadow. Renegade Effects Group, located in Los Angeles, CA, brings decades of experience to the project.
They have had their hand in numerous projects in Hollywood such as Star Trek (like all of them), Star Wars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Bicentennial Man, Last of the Mohicans, The Chronicles of Riddick, Batman and Robin... you get the point.
We are also working with In Disguise Designs, located in Las Vegas, NV. They are working on custom costumes and fabrics specifically for Nightshadow.
As you can imagine, the custom wardrobe for fantasy films like this isn't cheap. Each costume's cost can range anywhere between $5,000 to $12,000. Some costumes cost more than this due to more moving parts, parts lighting up, retractable parts, ventilation systems, specialized molding, etc. A single costume of this type can go all the way up to $30,000 for just one.
There are an initial 6 superheroes and villains within Nightshadow that will need custom-made costumes. Feature films also require multiple costumes to be created. There are typically multiple hero costumes and stunt costumes.
This is where YOU come in. The $30,000 is just a starting point to get some of the important costumes and props started- the ones that will take longer to create and need to begin ASAP (yesterday). As you can see, the Costume Designers on our project team have already started working on the project because they believe in the quality of the project, the potential, the script, and the overall positive impact it will have on society!
Please SHARE this Kickstarter Campaign with everyone you know so they can see what we're doing and contribute as well-- contributions at $25 and above get you a copy of the finished movie and comic book!

Logan Cross- President, CEO, Director
Logan Cross is the CEO of Cross the Line, LLC. Cross ventured from the East Coast in 2009 to pursue entertainment in Los Angeles. He worked on different sets in various different capacities, but decided that he wanted the ability to run things his own way allowing for changes in different processes while attempting to utilize ideas he felt would make a great impact on the outlook of Hollywood. At this point, he decided to create his own company.
Not only is Logan the owner and CEO of Cross the Line, he is also a writer, director, producer, and stunt/fight choreographer for the company as well. Having the expertise and knowledge in the required areas of filmmaking allows Logan Cross to find the right people for his team and be able to effectively communicate with them. This also allows for a more streamlined approach to running his businesses as he knows what is necessary for each division to operate smoothly without excess or unneeded components.
Logan Cross as over 80 project credits to his name as Director and Producer, with 69 credits as a screenwriter-- many being episodic productions which do not list out each episode as a separate credit. After years of freelance work on a broad range of projects, he joined Cross the Line’s team in 2013 and now manages post production for Cross the Line Media.

She plans to use her organizational skills and business background to help keep everyone in line as the company goes forward with the making of Nightshadow and as the company continues to grow and expand.
While the film is in production, one of her biggest tasks will be maintaining the budget during shooting and reporting to our payroll company as well as keeping investors updated with the financial and production statuses.
Wesley Eaton- Editor
Wesley Eaton was born and raised in Liberty City, Texas. He first became interested in filmmaking and editing when he got his hands on the family video camera in Junior High.

Cross the Line, LLC has been in existence since 2010 and within the last year has filmed two self-funded feature films that are currently in post production. We are familiar with the entertainment industry. To see a list of our credits online through IMDb, click the logo below:
LEGEND OF THE BULL (action comedy)
In early 2015, Cross the Line Films created and shot an action-comedy feature film titled Legend of the Bull which followed the story of Alejandro Castillo (Mario Rocha) on a journey to uncover the identity of his wife's killer five years prior. His guise based on his favorite Spanish-inspired iconic hero, Zorro, allowed him the courage to do so. He meets another gentleman, Gregory (Matt Holbrook), who is on a journey of his own to define his own life. They work together, though sometimes with compatibility issues, to uncover their own truths and become more than they ever could have been with out each other's help.
WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT (romantic comedy)
When the Time is Right is a romantic comedy filmed toward the end of 2015 which follows the story of Tristan (Brandon Blondun) who has given up on love after being dumped because his ex-girlfriend's cat didn't like him. His mother, wanting grandbabies, forces him back into the dating world several years later just to experience failure after failure. It's not until he haphazardly comes across Claire (Kaye Morris) that he realizes what has been missing and finds true love.
SUPERHEROINE SERIES (action/fantasy)
Nightshadow is based on something we are definitely very familiar with: Superheroines. The video below shows examples of fight sequences and visual effects that we have used in web series that we produced in the past.
This was a very low-budget series and was based on live action comic book characters, some parodied and some original, whose costumes were more directly translated from comic books. These costumes were not meant to be practical, but more a direct representation of the styles drawn in traditional comic books- unlike the direction we will be going with Nightshadow.
Most of the actors and actresses who worked on this project had never had any formal martial arts training or stage combat experience. For this project, they underwent on-set training during rehearsals and learned how to embrace the genre through their characters. The result was a very fun, fantasy-style series, which lasted for over 450 episodes.
PROJECTS IN DEVELOPMENT
Other comic book based projects are in-development including a television series based on The Hunters and a spy world series called Psygents:
The Director, Logan Cross, is a stunt person, fight choreographer, and martial artist himself. He attended the 1996 Junior Olympics for Tae Kwon Do and has been a part of numerous Hollywood productions (film and TV) in the involvement of the art of fight choreography.
Attached to the film is Stunt Coordinator and Fight Choreographer Mario Rocha, who has been responsible for the fight scenes in many feature films such as Cross the Line Films' very own Legend of the Bull (in post-production), Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance, and The Chemist, which won three awards for stunts alone in 2015 including best action sequence and best fight choreography. It already won Martial Arts Film of the Year in 2016 from Action Martial Arts Magazine.
Logan and Mario have teamed up on numerous projects over the years and worked together with our amazing stunt team to create a promo for Nightshadow featuring an underground society in Nightshadow's Universe known as the Venantium, or in modern language, The Hunters- they are tasked with preserving the continuation of the human race. As seen in the video below, we came together to create a scene with an extensive fight scene that was void of any help from visual effects or slow motion. Camera work was intended to be fluid and allow for a full showing of our stunt team's skills without any fancy camera trickery.
All of the short film The Hunters: Betrayal was rehearsed in 4 hours and shot in a little over 7 actual filming hours. This was quite a feat and resulted in a very impressive end product that highlights the abilities of our stunt team.
Nightshadow will be primarily filmed in beautiful Northeast Texas. The community where we are filming is fully supportive of allowing us to film in their town and is working hand-in-hand to pool resources and get everything together for this film. It will be a great opportunity for everyone involved and really show off an amazing area with some incredible history.
Comic Books in general are a huge part of our society. They are a way of addressing social and political issues and situations. Many characters were created during times of war and uncertain financial times.
ComicCon is one of the largest conventions, typically held in San Diego, CA, with other smaller conventions held around the country/world. It has grown so large that it has spread beyond comic books and video games into mainstream entertainment involving any movie or piece of work with any sort of fantasy element depicted.
Our series, which ran for over 4 successful years, was based on strong female superheroes who could overcome the odds on their own without the need for male counterparts-- and has a very strong, vast viewership.
The Universe that Nightshadow is based in has been proven for over 4 years as an expansive, interesting, and stable universe, which all of our future Comic Books will be based around. Many of the concepts have been reimagined and adapted for this new feature film. They have been updated beyond our previous incarnations.
We have always embraced diversity throughout our projects and will contiue to do so in Nightshadow.
2 out of 3 of our heroes in Nightshadow are female. They do not rely on a love story or male counterpart to define who they are or how their story will play out. Our viewers will see representation of strong male characters as well. What makes a female character strong is her resilience to the harsh world which she endures, overcomes, and learns from. It's important that the character's gender to not determine the outcome of the story. This means that if you were to swap out the female lead for a male lead, the story would remain the same.
In terms of other types of diversity, while other comic book companies are making changes in their characters to match the demands in society to include minority characters as well as providing more strong female characters, Cross the Line Comics has begun their universe with this in mind. Viewers can relate to their favorite characters without worrying if they will change later down the road.
Risks and challenges
Timing is everything. The purpose of this Kickstarter is to receive funding for the costumes for the Nightshadow feature film while taking what we receive above and beyond that budget and using it to KICKSTART Cross the Line Comics, LLC.
We need to get the costumers started on physical fabrication of the costumes as soon as possible to keep our film on schedule for an April 2017 release date.
Once we receive our funding, we will still be crunched for time. We have to keep moving as quickly as possible to achieve our other deadlines. With your support, we can do this!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
