A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
Creoqode Audx is an hackable speaker.
Audx comes as an all-inclusive do-it-yourself kit allowing users to build their speaker and create their own music visualiser whilst learning about coding.
While listening to your favourite music, you can explore the working principles of a speaker and learn about which components it is made of. During the assembly of Audx, you will practice your basic soldering skills and discover fundamental concepts of electronics and audio systems. Assembly guide and video tutorials we prepare are aimed at new beginners, and will take you through every step of the building process in detail.
Technical Specifications of Audx:
PAM8302 2.5W Class D Amplifier
MAX9814 Auto-Gain Microphone Module
TPS61090 Power Supplier
8 x 8 Orange LED Matrix
3W 4 Ohm Speaker
Audx is an Arduino-based project. It accommodates a microphone module with an 8 by 8 LED matrix that can be programmed as you wish. You can create your own custom music visualiser or dynamic animations which move according to the music you are playing. Simply connect Audx to any Arduino board you have, and program it through Arduino IDE. Educational guides on our website will help you creating your own animations.
Connect Audx to your phone or any other music player with an auxiliary cable to enjoy your music. Alternatively, if you want to go wireless, simply connect any Bluetooth receiver to Audx and you are ready to go.
Audx accommodates a 2.5W amplifier to drive the 3W speaker provided in the kit, which is pretty strong considering its compact size. Powered by 3 x AAA size batteries, you can take Audx pretty much everywhere you would like, listen to the music and share your own music visualiser with friends!
Risks and challenges
As Creoqode, Audx is our third Kickstarter project after Nova and 2048. We are in the market for more than a year now and gained a valuable experience about manufacturing, packing, customer service and international shipping. We are already in touch with manufacturers for Audx and arranged the production. Audx can get into production straight after the funds are received. As the founder of Creoqode, I strongly believe that risks involved for on time delivery of Audx will be extremely unlikely.
However, it would be fair to note that we will be shipping the product globally, and the taxation, customs duties and other regulations might be different across some countries which might cause some minor delays. However, Creoqode team has extensively researched global delivery of Audx and partnered up with DHL in order to preempt any challenges we may face. Additionally, we have set the delivery date as February 2019 leaving us plenty of time to ensure on-time delivery.
Additionally, we will be putting all our effort to prepare detailed and easy to follow tutorials for hardware, assembly and coding. However, after the delivery of Audx, some users might still have questions regarding technical aspects of the product or might require assistance, which Creoqode help desk formed of 3 programmers and 2 electrical engineers will be able to answer immediately. We are all prepared for you to have an exciting and smooth experience with Audx.
