This week, one of biggest Spanish video-game website, MeriStation, made an interview with our Game Director and they talked about the future of Temtem. The interview is in full Spanish but we want to talk a little bit about it and make a summary of some of the points that appeared in the interview.

  • Max level for Temtem will be 100.
  • Dojos won't be restricted to one elemental type.
  • HMs will be replaced by items carried by the player to traverse different terrains, such as Surf table.
  • There will be two types of flying: traditional airships to travel between each island, and a more modern way to teleport between the different cities.
  • The current estimate for the final number of Temtem is ~160+.
  • There will be branching evolutions.
  • There will be status effects but their conditions will be pre-fixated so there's no RNG involved.
  • There's going to be a 7th stat in Temtem (in addition to HP, Speed, Attack, Sp. Attack, Defense and Sp. Defense). This stat will be very important in how Temtem battles work.
  • There will be something equivalent to TM. They are called Technique Courses in Temtem.
  • Every bit of info of your Temtem will be visible, even traditionally hidden stats and modifiers.

PayPal late-backing ends and Backers Discord channels are coming SOON

As you may already know, our platform for late-backing with PayPal ended yesterday. We're now currently working on gathering all the data from PayPal and merging it with the Kickstarter backers. We'll be opening access to BackerKit soon so you will all be able to check your pledge and upgrade it if you want or distribute your extra funds for the add-ons.

Also, Discord channels for backers are coming really soon. We've been working on a Discord bot to automatize everything and it's almost ready. Whenever we have the full PayPal backer list we will start giving the roles needed for accessing these channels. We will send you an email with instructions in the next days.

      Buenas, soy gran fan de los juegos de Pokemon y tiendo a explorar el competitivo como el que más. Suelo evitar ir al meta y buscar las virtudes en otras criaturas menos utilizadas que pueden combatir a las que más se usan.
      Estoy deseando ver cuanto de lo que espero encontrar se hacer realidad.
      Además, mi pareja tiene un canal de Twitch en el cual tiene un gran número de seguidores, cuando llegue la Alpha me gustaría pedir el permiso necesario para mostrarlo en su canal.

      I'm fine with a TM equivalent, but I'm hoping they have unlimited uses like in the newer Pokemon games.

      Oof, the TM equivalent thing is disappointing as I hoped you'd be ditching the archaic way moves are handled in Pokemon in favour of something more user-friendly and less needlessly restrictive, but a TM equivalent implies otherwise :S

      You know what would be cool if you allowed players to write their discoveries while raising the creatures so we organically find out special ASH discovers TEMMON can fly through some odd evolution ...Player discoveries would add more of an extra element to the game sort of like POE players experimenting...but the one thing i hope is the game is dynamic enough that not every player is following the same pattern

      I have a few questions about this:

      Are the items that will replace HMs consumable? Or are they infinite use?

      Can you clarify what you mean by status conditions being pre-fixated? Does that mean there is a guarantee if a status effect will work or fail? (e.g. It is a guarantee that a poison will work or fail based on stats, and there is no RNG that could effect it it takes hold) Or whether the status hurts you once you are effected by it a guarantee rather than chance? (E.G. confusion not always preventing you from making a move). Normally such status effects do have a small bit of RNG to them.

      I also noticed this was edited, as the original post said "There will be evolution ramifications.", was this just a mistranslation? Since it sounds like there were possible drawbacks to evolving them.

      Looking forward to the game! Glad to know about the level cap as well as various other things (thank you for linking the English translation of the interview!) For now, I'll keep refreshing my emails LOL
