About this project
Hey everybody! I’m Crazy Aunt Lindsey.
On November 4, 2010 I launched “Doing Stuff With Crazy Aunt Lindsey,” my kids creativity web show that focuses on super fun, super fast mini projects that are both economical and eco-friendly. Created to encourage bonding, good behavior, and great memories, the show also features a monthly Kid Book Club and "Teacher Tuesdays," a segment lead by 4th grade teacher extraordinaire (and my childhood friend), Ms. Leslye, offering tips on ways to get the most out of any child's early childhood education. Each week, my Kid Co-Hosts and I walk you thru these arts and kitchen projects in hopes that you’ll share them with all the kids in your life.
This whole project was born not just out of my love of children and personal belief that learning doesn’t start and stop in a classroom. But living in different cities than my nieces and nephews made me passionate about finding creative, inexpensive ways to spend quality time with all the kids in my life – AWAY from the television.
The first 5 episodes were met with the most overwhelming and truly humbling response from folks all over the internet. This is definitely my version on a dream come true and none of this would have been possible without the incredible kindness and patience from the parents of my kid co-hosts (who just so happen to actually be my nieces, God children, and kids I’ve grown to love very much through the years), the incredible support from local businesses, and the AMAZING GENEROSITY from one of my dearest friends, Cheriyan, who has donated many, MANY hours editing this show.
I’ve got big plans for the show this year but the only way any of it will happen is with your help. Over the next 45 days I’d like to raise $12,000 and here’s why:
· Consistent weekly episodes
· Upgrade the overall production value of the show with a new camera and microphone
· New Computer
· Props and supplies
· Secure an editor
Just to note, if I don’t meet the goal by hitting $12,000 in the time allotted, I don’t get to keep any of the money. I’ve worked out some pretty sweet rewards for all you lovlies out there who will help us reach that. More money means more shows so, truthfully, I’m trying to exceed the goal set. But I won’t be the only one to benefit if we do. If you help me raise:
· $15,000 – I will help beautify an urban neighborhood by personally planting flowerbeds in a city like Newark, Camden, or Trenton New Jersey
· $20,000 – Plant those flowerbeds and designate a full $1,000 to donate to someone elses dream project right here on Kickstarter.
So, $1 or $10,000, your support is more appreciated than you will ever know. Visit the website, subscribe at the YouTube channel, follow me on Twitter, give what you can, and PLEASE tell everyone you know about this effort. This whole project has been a family affair and I hope that you will join us.
Thank you :)
