About this project
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (or, FAQ's): Why clowns? Because they speak to the duality of man. Ok, then. Why the Llamas? Because they are considered to be good luck. Why Kickstarter? Filmmakers rely upon the entire universe for almost everything they do. Asking for assistance to help fund crazy art takes balls, but going it alone is like playing poker with scared money. We’re looking to find others out there like us who feel that taking chances is the surest way to blaze new trails. We’ve enjoyed the support of good friends, family and professionals who wholeheartedly believe in us, and now we’d like to expand our reach beyond our closest circles in an attempt to grow these circles and to meet and collaborate with others who dare to dream big dreams. What do I need to help support you? All you need is a Kickstarter account (it’s free) and a credit card. Who does the money go to? Every single penny (minus the fees for Kickstarter’s involvement) will go directly to support the completion of CRACKWOOD (the movie). Your money goes directly to the funding and completion of this film. What happens if the money isn’t raised in time? Nothing. Literally. If our goal isn’t met before the deadline, no money changes hands, no rewards are dispersed and CRACKWOOD will fall short of completion. Is my pledge amount publicly displayed? No pledge amount by any backer will be made public without our first gaining permission from you. If I donate, when do I get my incentive? Incentives will only happen if our goal is met so please help spread the word. If we meet our goal we will ship all physical merchandise directly to you immediately after our deadline. The group scene shoot, wrap party and other non-physical rewards (i.e., end credits, etc.) will be scheduled and you will be informed and given plenty of advance notice. What if I don't want the incentive? I just want to support. That is also possible, and if so we thank you. Kickstarter provides a button to select when you donate if you don't want your reward. Can we exceed our goal? Absolutely. Since this is all or nothing funding we have set our goal on the low end. As with everything in filmmaking the more money the better everything looks and sounds, and since we’ve already shot and edited the movie we are closer than most projects ever get to being completed. Exceeding our funding goal before the deadline will allow us more and better access to the resources we now need and, more importantly, the time to give it our full attention. Is backing a project on Kickstarter tax deductible? Unfortunately, donations are considered raw gifts and are Non-tax deductible. Can I gift an incentive? YES! If you would like to donate to the film but give the reward to someone as a gift, go through all the normal process of making a donation in your name. For billing purposes, this action must be in your name. After our deadline, we will send a message to you on Kickstarter. (It will be forwarded to the email address you provided). Please reply then with all the person’s information that is to receive the reward. We will make sure they are the person who receives the reward. If the movie is saved, when will it release? This is still to be determined. If successful, all remaining post-production will begin immediately after receiving funding from the Kickstarter campaign. We will make sure YOU know when it’s due to release as soon as we do. How will you get in touch with me regarding my reward? If the movie is saved, after our deadline we will send a message to you on Kickstarter. (It will be forwarded to the email address you provided). $10,000 seems like a low number for a movie budget, doesn’t it? You are correct. We have already successfully funded a majority of the movie up to this point. Your help is needed to help get CRACKWOOD over the finish line without having to cut corners in the post-production phase. The $10,000 figure will bring us closer to getting this remaining work done properly. Any other questions? Just ask us. We’ll answer anything you’d like to know. Remember – there’s no such thing as a stupid question... firstname.lastname@example.org How do I find out more about the project?
