Fútbol Strategy lets you take control of football/soccer teams with uniquely rated players in a tabletop game that is fast and fun while being realistic and strategic. Players move around the field as if it were a real game: passing, carrying, crossing, shooting, defending, and clearing. There are goals, corner kicks, goal kicks, free kicks, yellow and red cards, penalty kicks ... the important moments play out just like in a real game.
By the time you've played your first half of Fútbol Strategy you will know how to play and be comfortable with it. Games play in as little as 30 minutes or as long as 60 minutes, depending on your playing speed. You can easily play two games in the time it takes to sit in front of the telly and watch a single, real game.
Despite being quick and easy, Fútbol Strategy is deep. Build tactics around attacking, defense, or take a balanced approach. You can play narrow or wide. Push forward or park the bus. All of this happens in space, with footballers moving around the field. It feels like real football.
In Fútbol Strategy you pick six "stars" - five outfielders plus a goalkeeper - to center your team around. Decisions are interesting, meaningful and fast-paced with a realistic feel. The other five players are represented with team markers showing how the rest of your team performs in the attacking, midfield, and defending thirds. Each game, or even different phases of the same game, have their own feel and flavour depending on which stars you choose.
Each player in Fútbol Strategy has a unique code related to the nation they play for. This will allow us, in future years, to release new sets: You will be able to see players get older and mature or degrade as they age. New players will become available. This "legacy" aspect allows you to tell a different story over the years.
The game that funds at $10,000 includes four nations: Brazil, Spain, Germany, and the United States. But we want a lot more teams; don't you?!
Future stretch goals include more FREE teams (you will vote on future nations to include), more FREE language translations (you will vote on these as well), and a special "Club Leagues Expansion" to purchase that will include hundreds of footballers, "club shield" stickers to add to your footballers, and special rules for club budgets and running leagues!

Risks and challenges
This project has very low risk once it is funded. We've learned from our past Kickstarter campaigns. We've had three that went very smoothly and two where we did not plan well. In one, we did the campaign before the game's design was finished and - when the designer vanished - it set the project back almost a year. In the other, the project was so successful and we hit so many stretch goals that we lost a couple of months in design and then manufacturing was completely unprepared to deal with all of the additional production.
Having learned from those experiences we have completed the game design and already gotten art ready - including for all stretch goals that we will offer - and simply need to push the button on the required production once the campaign is over. Everything has been correctly calculated and the production will start immediately.
