The CPR LifeWrap is a disposable CPR assistive device that provides simple CPR instructions and prevents the exchange of fluids.
What is a prototype?
A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Functional Prototype
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Appearance Prototype
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Design Prototype
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Production Prototype
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.

The story...
Several years ago, Felicia Jackson experienced a near tragedy involving her two year old son. While driving Felicia noticed her son struggling to breath. She quickly noticed he was choking and pulled over to the side of the road. As she looked at her baby struggling to breathe and turning blue, she panicked. Instead of performing CPR, she froze. Thanks to her husband reacting quickly her son survived. Six years later Felicia experienced another tragedy involving a young, beloved family member. This set Felicia on a path to save lives.
Felicia's jouney began with a dream about the CPR LifeWrap. She sketched what she remembered and sat on her idea for a couple of years. Her cousin Shavonna introduced her to Alexis Willis from LAUNCH Chattanooga and so her journey began. After completing and graduating from the LAUNCH's Business Entrepreneurship Academy, she was invited to attend The Company Lab's Accelerator program. Felicia's idea quickly gained traction and a prototype design.
Since Felicia began her journey with The CPR LifeWrap, she has been featured in EDGE Business Magazine, The Chattanooga Times Free Press, Nooga.com, CHI Memorial Magazine, and Chattanooga Magazine. She has also won The Company Lab's Will This Float award for Best General Business Idea and the 2016 Emerging Business of the Year from the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga.
Where we currently are...
The CPR LifeWrap is about to go into manufacturing. We have two manufacturers on board. Why two? We want to ensure production will not cease in case there are any hiccups that arise.
In addition to individual sales, we are also meeting with various organizations, both regional to Chattanooga, and on a national level.
What the final product will look like
While we currenty do not have pictures of the final product or packaging to show you at this time, we can explain what we intend for it to look like. As mentioned earlier, the final version will be made of BPA and Phalate free plastic. This will make the CPR LifeWrap flexible enough to fold into packaging that will be easy to carry around in a purse, yet strong enough to endure CPR compressions. The packaging will be designed so that it will be easy for a person to perform the following steps:
- 1. Open the CPR LifeWrap package.
- 2. Unfold the CPR LifeWrap.
- 3. Lay it down on the person who needs CPR.
- 4. Follow the instructions listed on the CPR LifeWrap.
Why we need your help
Our main goals are to get quality, safe products into as many homes, schools, and businesses as possible. My sales and marketing teams are researching various businesses that fit into our target market.
Budget breakdown
6,000 wraps costs $31,000: The creation of a LifeWrap includes die cutting, graphics, assembly of the mouth barrier, printing, and packing to ship to our office. This does not include the shipping cost, nor individual packaging, for sale delivery
Shipping via air $7,000: Once the LifeWraps are manufactured, they need to be shipped to us!
Packaging $7,000: To get the LifeWrap to you, we need to package them and individually wrap each one.
Distribution $5,000: Getting the LifeWraps to you costs money! We will use Jones Printing to package and ship to you.
Website $5,000: As The CPR LifeWrap continues to grow, we need a better website to represent the product. Unfortunately, website design and development isn't cheap. We've talked to a few designers, and the average cost is $5,000.

Risks and challenges
Some of the risks that may come with production of a product can be manufacturing errors during the die cutting or imprinting of images onto wraps.
We have two manufacturing companies we are working with which will be helpful if something arises and the initial manufacturer can't produce the wraps.
