Egads! Stretch goal hit, phone booths named, work to do!
Good late-morning, CoworkBuffalo supporters,
Here's the really short version of this post-deadline update for those who have to get to work (or lunch):
For those who want the story:
I was cleaning out rooms and sweeping for some floor refinishing work around my house last night. I had my phone plugged in and laying on the floor. Between the new funder updates and oh-my-did-you-see-this texts from the co-founders, I'm pretty sure my wife and dog will never let me keep my phone on vibrate ever again. Sleep was lost, barking was heard, but, come on—we hit our ridiculous stretch goal, and then some!
One last-minute backer bought the naming rights to a phone booth, and we just heard today that another phone booth might be claimed. And quite a few locals and supporters from afar jumped in as we approached midnight. It's nearly a cliché, but we are honestly surprised and amazed to discover that so many people are willing to support our quirky little project in downtown Buffalo.
We have many thank you notes and tweets to write, but more than that, we now have some promises to keep. We'll soon have the funds to improve the working experience for everybody's day passes and our extremely gracious members, sure. We're eager to tackle those phone booths, upgrade some chairs, and give everyone a full-size fridge for their tasty lunches.
But we will also be planning a really fun party, stuffing envelopes with stickers, setting up a thank-you wall, and designing and printing coffee mugs, (many more) posters, and T-shirts. We'll keep you updated on how things are coming with your rewards shipping, which we expect (as of now) to ship in February. As with all Kickstarter campaigns, we'll only be able to send those of you with mail-able rewards a claiming survey once, so keep an eye on your inbox.
Okay, time to get back to work. There's a lot of it now! All thanks to you very kind folks who want to see Buffalo have a good community space for freelancers, remote workers, and community groups.
