Andrew Allen is back, with a brand new album paying tribute to some of the most iconic soundtracks in (NES) Video Game history:
Why the Nintendo Entertainment System?
The Nintendo Entertainment System is an iconic part of video game history. The music of the NES can take us on a nostalgia-driven journey to the best parts of our childhood. Another reason for this album is that Nintendo is releasing the NES Classic in November. The games on the NES Classic will be our selection for this year's Coverville Records release. That means that the CD will have over 30 arrangements produced and recorded by Andrew Allen; the biggest track list in Coverville Records history.
*Track List Sampler (Demo Tracks: not a final representation of the album)*
JazzNESs: A NES Classic Jazz Tribute will feature every theme found on the NES Classic. Listed below is the current track listing as of (10/2016)
For this album, Andrew will be taking on the entire creative process. Andrew will be going back to his Coverville Records roots with Jazz Piano Trio (lounge/straight-ahead) arrangements for each NES Classic track.
The evolution of Andrew's sound will continue on this album as well. He has explored the sounds of Funk, Blues, and Latin over the years, but one genre that has always remained a constant has been Jazz. This album will take on a "Smooth Federation" quality, creating a relaxed and swingin' vibe for the listener.
What's in it for you?
We need your help in putting this album together. The last four albums wouldn't have happened without your support, and so we've come up with some rewards that are a culmination of favorites from previous Kickstarter campaigns and some new stuff to make it exciting.
Like before, the base of every reward is the album itself. Everyone who backs the project with any of the rewards will get a digital copy of the album at the same time we send it off to the CD production house. As soon as it's mastered and mixed, we want you to have it in your hands. In addition, you can get a physical copy of the album, along with amazing artwork by Scott Johnson.
We're also going to be presenting limited edition prints created by Scott and Brian Ibbott. If you've backed the previous Andrew Allen albums, you already know Scott Johnson's amazing art has graced the covers and interiors of the physical CD digipak. This year, Brian Ibbott will design the album cover. Brian is a pioneering podcaster and digital artist. He has inspired some of our favorite designs over the years, so to have him contribute as an artist is a real treat. The artwork that they create for the album will also be included in some reward tiers as high-quality printed art, ready to be framed and hung on your wall.
Like previous years, we'll have a custom-designed t-shirt that will be produced for the launch of the album and will only be available while they last. They'll never be reprinted, so you won't want to miss out.
We're also bringing back a fan favorite of Live! from The Cantina: The Andrew Allen USB Flash Drive! With five albums and some digital EPs, Andrew has recorded a LOT of music. And for this album, we're custom-designing a USB flash drive to load it all onto! Not just the four Coverville Records releases (Smooth Federation, Free Play, Secret Identity, Star Wars, and The NES Classic Tribute), but also bonus tracks, demo versions, outtakes and alternate takes!
Another popular reward from last time, Producer Credit, gets your name (or whatever you'd like) printed in the CD digipak as an Executive Producer! We'll even throw in an extra copy of the CD so that you can pass it along to your family or friends and show them what a big shot you are!
Once again, thank you so much for supporting our Kickstarter. We hope that you'll consider helping make this album a reality!
Risks and challenges
Timely delivery is always a challenge, and Andrew and I will BOTH be taking on that responsibility this time! Other than that, nothing in here we haven't done before on several other Kickstarters!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
