Frequently Asked Questions
I know many of you were excited to get the Tarot of Dreams tarot deck with the Soothsayer reward level that we had shown in our preview a while back. Unfortunately, Ciro was selling his decks faster than he anticipated when I first approached him about offering those decks. He was not able to guarantee me that they would be available when the Kickstarter funded. Therefore I decided to take the reward level down as I did not want to promise something I could not deliver.
I am sorry if this created any confusion for any of you. I hope that you will have a look at the rest of the project and see if there is another reward level that is right for you. Also, keep in mind that one of our stretch goals is an upgrade to tarot sized cards. I know this is not the same as having the actual tarot deck but hopefully it can come close.
Thank you for your support and understanding,
Yes, here are the variants that will come with the Psychic level so far. If we add more, they will be added at no additional charge and I will post about them here as well.
The first is Kill the Messenger. This variant has everyone start with one of the Page cards. This incentives them to collect that particular suit. This will lead to people trying to steal that Page card or trying to prevent others from collecting that suit. It really opens up the player interaction.
The second is the Arcana Stones. This one adds a lot of strategy to the game because you have an additional stone you can place on top of a card. This stone gives you a free peek at that card at any time but also prevents your opponent from flipping or peeking at that card. You can only move your arcana stone at the end of your turn. This variant really increase the bluffing and strategy of the game.
The third is called Seer Stones. It is played with the cards face up but adds an element of luck. The variant comes with a D6 and D10. Instead of a flip or peek action available you only have a move action. You can place your stones, then you roll a D10 (D6 for 2-player) to determine which card is scored. This version turns Stones of Fate into a fun party game.
And finally there is the Tiebreaker variant. This one will allow you to win cards in which your stones are tied with an opponent. There is a tiebreaker card on which you can place one of your stones. Another player can come along after you and place their stone above yours. Whoever of any tied players has the highest stone on the tiebreaker card will win the card.
Hope that clarifies the variants a bit. If you have any other questions please ask.Last updated:
The add-ons are actually very simple.
For $20 added to your pledge you can get a copy of Stones of Fate (that is everything you would get at the FORTUNE TELLER level). You can do this multiple times. Add $40 for 2 extra copies, $60 for 3 extra, etc. We do ask that our international backers add a little extra for shipping for these add-ons ($6/copy for UK, Canada; $12/copy for Rest of World).
For $10 added to your pledge you can get a copy of the variants from the PSYCHIC level. You can also do this multiple times. Add $20 for 2 extra copies, $30 for 3 extra, etc. Note: this will NOT come with the base game of Stones of Fate, this is for the VARIANTS ONLY. We do ask that our international backers add a little extra for shipping for these add-ons ($3/copy for UK, Canada; $6/copy for Rest of World).
