About

Fully funded 3D printable wargaming terrain to create modular layouts and featuring over 200 STL files to download and print. Scaled for 28mm sci-fi games and compatible with Warhammer 40,000 and Kill Team, Sector Corvus Prime comes with enough variation in floors, roofs, and walls to create epic sprawling game boards to fight over.

Sample layout using WarLayer 4.0 compatible pieces from the All-In Pledge Level. Games Workshop (TM) models shown for scale comparison purposes only.

All of the models print without the need for supports, and are designed to print vertically for maximum quality on FDM printers. Maximum size will fit average printer beds - 200mm x 200mm. The models have also been test printed by members of the wargaming / 3D printing community.

I've test printed every model using a combination of slicers, including Simplify3D and PrusaSlicer, and printed them on common desktop machines such as the Creality CR10 series, as well as a Prusa Mk2S.

Backers will now also receive a WarLayer compatible selection of models appropriate to their pledge. So each pledge level will contain the same amount of WarLayer scaled wall/floor/roof pieces as the OpenLOCK versions. Twice the bang for your buck!

There will also be a scaled and converted WarLayer strut/support piece.

Why Sector Corvus Prime you ask?

Modular terrain is something I am hugely passionate about. I love the idea of using a small number of components and being able to create varied pieces each time. Whether it’s a simple dwelling, an industrial unit or an elaborate warrior monastery, the concept is the same but the outcome has so much more thematic potential.

A handful of common structural parts, a couple of wall tiles, and a drop-in roof can be arranged into the simplest habitation building to grand, towering constructions that look awesome on the tabletop. Perfect for grimdark settings like Warhammer 40k, Necromunda, and Kill Team.

So I like to incorporate some level of modularity into most of my terrain designs if possible. I think it lends so much originality to a game board and gives the hobbyist the chance to flex their creative muscles too.

I wanted some modular buildings that worked for multiple sci-fi skirmish games and so focussed on creating a lived-in under hive/industrial setting with some slightly more 'up-market' buildings thrown into the mix. And so, Sector Corvus Prime was born.

How does it work?

It’s all very simple really. The struts clip into the the floor component, providing the shell of the structure. The wall panels then slot into the grooves in the struts. The roof surround panel locks them all into place, and finally, the roof plate fits into the roof surround to finish it all off. But here’s where the beauty of modularity kicks in. It’s a simple matter of adding another floor component on top of the walls, instead of the roof surround, to create an upper storey to the building. You could keep going and build a further storey and put a massive structure on the gaming table. Each wall panel is different, so no two structures need to look the same.

Sector Corvus Prime is also compatible with the WarLayer 4.0 system. The grid based system allows for any combination of walls and corners to be used together and combine using their awesome ’T-Rail’ slot and groove system.

As the WarLayer team say “portability and modularity make WarLayer great for games like Necromunda, Kill Team, Space Hulk, Warhammer 40k, Fallout Wasteland, Star Wars Legion, Doom, Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, and any other games that require a quick grid of terrain to make the battlefield cinematic.

Grab a FREE Sample Pack to try out for yourself. Sample pack includes both OpenLOCK and WarLayer 4.0 compatible components. Like the rest of the terrain in this set, it all prints without the need for supports. Try it out with your Kill Team squads or in general Warhammer 40000.

Who doesn't like something for free? Every backer at Pledge LEVEL 1, LEVEL 2, and ALL-IN will receive these FREE Plasma Relay Pipes as part of their pledge. Ideal as thematic scatter terrain on your tables while providing cover and line-of-sight blocking.

All pipe components will print on an average sized print volume. The set features an Intersection Junction Box that will match the pipe diameter in the Chemplex LEVEL 2 Pledge, allowing you to combine the various pipeline to the Plasma Relay Pipes.
