Proof, Dragon Boats, & CONvergence!
On Monday we received a very exciting package at the Zakelro! Manse. And when we unpacked it, we were looking at this.
We were sent three proofs for Bhaloidam - The first is the "White Dummy" or "Tabula Rasa" as we like to call it. This completely assembled, but completely un-printed, Skein Pack reflects the final quality of the construction. This is probably our favorite of the three proofs and it's taken some work to convince Corvus not to sleep with it at night. Trust us when we say, Bhaloidam is going to feel good in your hands.
The second proof is the "Blueline Prototype." This is a completely assembled, low-quality printed, Skein Pack. We used this proof to ensure all the artwork lines up and that the tokens and pawns will be cut properly. We made a slight goof on the artwork for the sides of the box base, but other than that easily rectified issue, this all turned out as expected.
The third proof is the "Color Proof," a thick stack of high quality prints of every art asset we sent them. These are beautiful and passed our scrutiny with flying colors (as it were).
It doesn't take much effort to blend the 3 separate proofs into a single mental image of the final project and we are excited!
The one thing we haven't received yet is the proofs for the dice. The Dragon Boat Festival is being held in China, which has delayed those by an unspecified amount of time. Because of this, we still don't have an ETA for you. But next week we'll be approving the change to the box we submitted (just by looking at the digital proofs, not by receiving new hard proofs) and they'll start printing right away! Hopefully it'll all work out to not disrupt the proposed schedule. We'll let you know.
Finally - we'll be attending CONvergence over the July 4th weekend. There will be plenty of short Bhaloidam demos and longer one-shot campaigns upon request. Additionally, Corvus will be an official Attending Pro and speaking a few times. If you're anywhere near Minneapolis - or can arrange to be somewhere near Minneapolis - please feel free to join us. It's an excellently-run convention and a lot of fun.
